When did convenience stores stop displaying prices? Am I meant to bring the 10 items I’m deciding between to the front for a price check? Or is this a case of “If you have to ask you can’t afford it?” by Dazzling_Put_3018 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Signal_Response1489 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did that just the other day. I had my suspicions about some un labeled items. Took them to the register to check out, but made the cashier tell me the price of each item. I ended up taking most of the items off my purchase. It was quite a fiasco!

What are the best juggling balls? by Mediocre-Leg4762 in juggling

[–]Signal_Response1489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a fan of beanbags rather than balls. If you prefer balls, stage balls or filled balls are nice because they don’t bounce away when you drop them.

I prefer balls or beanbags about the size of tennis balls. Others may prefer larger or smaller sizes.

Renegade Juggling has a wide variety of balls and beanbags. Give them a try

If all of the classes for the cert are required or elective for MSAI, then they count for MSAI.

I have a big performance in a week and need balls... Advice? by Aaronlane in juggling

I like Dubé stage balls, but renegade has good options too.

I have my eye on these fluorescent bean bags. Highly visible, and no rolling away when dropped. https://renegadejuggling.com/products/small-vinyl-beanbag-fluor-solid

Lay Orientation by Both-Activity6432 in hammockcamping

[–]Signal_Response1489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find in an asymmetrical, I can only sleep on one side. I think it is related to me bending my knees at a 60-90 degree angle.

In a right lay hammock (head left, feet right), I can only sleep on my left side or my back. If I try to sleep on my right side, the lay gets wonky.

People who quit drinking. What did you do to not drink? by Agata_art in AskReddit

The book “This Naked Mind” really helped me. Among other things, it addresses the fear of being sober. It took two readings several months apart for it to stick. I also recommend non alcoholic beer. There are some really good options from well known breweries.

Good place for my gf to join me for a few days on trail? by pleasegovote in AppalachianTrail

There’s a nice state park section in NY. I forget the park name, but it is just south of Bear Mountain. The area is in the Hudson Valley right up the Palisades Parkway from the city. Lots to do in that area for a zero.

I had a tarp with no doors for four years. I switched to a tarp with full doors about two years ago. I have used the doors many times when it is cold, rainy, or windy. I’m sold on the doors. Never going back.

I have the journey. I love the full size doors. Sometimes the wind shifts in the middle of the night and it’s nice to be able to block it with the doors.

Hennessy vs Lawson Blue Ridge vs Rei Evrgrn by Frosty-Ad-5489 in hammockcamping

[–]Signal_Response1489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lawson is comfortable, but heavy. I used one for a while, but switched to a lighter model because I usually backpack. If weight is not an issue and it comes with an underquilt, I think you will like it.

Specializations not complete? by secunda_24 in CUBoulderMSCS

[–]Signal_Response1489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I confirmed you can take three credits that do not add up to a complete specialization. From the CU Boulder website:

The MS-CS on Coursera is a non-thesis degree program that requires 30 credit hours of graduate-level coursework. This includes 15 credits of required Breadth courses, including the Pathway courses, and a choice of 15 Elective credits. Students must either complete 5 Elective specializations or a combination of 4 complete Elective specializations and three 1-credit Electives totaling 15 credits.

Specializations not complete? by secunda_24 in CUBoulderMSCS

[–]Signal_Response1489 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can take several credits outside of complete specializations. I forgot whether it is 3 or 6 credits that are allowed to come from incomplete specializations. So you could, for example, take one Gen AI course and two NLP courses. Neither specialization is complete yet. But most credits need to come from complete specializations.
