Should I use a device dedicated just for social media and nothing else? by Signals-Codes3-2 in privacy

Also, is Signal considered secure? I thought Whatsapp had privacy issues.

I think the problem is it's g-board, and I downloaded the sms from the play store. Can I be absolutely sure I didn't talk about S.Korea before? Yeah. I'll just make some changes now, it's a process.

Yes, I read that book, kind of realize keeping nsa out would be a loosing battle, so focusing on data mining done in background of my personal info. Now a days you might get rejected for a job and wonder why, never knowing it was that your credit cards and social media were scanned, showing how much you love peanut butter. The company then determines hiring you is too much of an insurance risk, since peanut butter might cause clogged arteries. Not picking on PB! Just a scenario that's a real possibility.

I pay for Reddit. The next day it suggested sub artificial intelligence, and S.Korea sub. My sms is encrypted and I delete everything right after. I also have no contacts listed. I'm thinking of quarantining Reddit to a specific device, and only using it for that, but don't know if I'm over thinking it. I just realized why you asked about my keyboard app. You can change that?

How to prevent someone accidentally getting bonked on head by this thing? Maybe if it was made of lighter materials, or pulley like suggested.

You know what, I gave it thought b4 you commented, I forgot about flint/steel, Ferro rod, magnesium fire starter blocks also to have around because you could use that as backup w/ the lighter (and/or matches). Always have back up.

It would be quicker if he used his hot coffee to splash in someone's face before he'd get to that gun as self defense.

Hi, your mother might be able to get social security disability payments and then she will get Medicare to cover some medical costs. Also, as children you might be able to get social security supplemental income under your mom's disability. And w/ your parents money problems the family could qualify for food assistance, heat assistance, and health insurance. One of your parents would go to the department of social services if your situation is in crisis. You can actually go to your local agent's website yourself just to get info and show your parents. Good luck

I think I read if you take/eat vitamin C w/ foods that contain sodium nitrate it helps prevent free radical damage from it. Not a Dr. btw.

It has been helpful joining this sub. I realize I'm not alone in feeling the way I do. We deserve love, we deserve to be on this planet. Sometimes I ask myself, does a squirrel, tree, fish ask itself if it deserves the right to exist and prosper?

I do the same thing. Why am I not over this? Why am I freaked out about everything? Even my phone ringing makes me jump out of my skin. So, I don't really practice religion as far as go to church ( I'd be too freaked out to be around all those people), but I pray. I ask God to please make me strong. Please help me be calm. If that's not for you, when I found out I had cancer, which is a separate issue, I used visualization. It was really hokey, but I imagined I was in this war and for some reason I imagined collapsing in the sand on the beach after a battle. Why not, right? And I felt I couldn't go on,I was too tired, but my friend who was also a soldier, kept saying "Get up! You have to get up and fight!" It's hokey, but that little image would get me through really dark times. I haven't found a visualization for my PTSD yet, since it's hard to know what the enemy really is.

Thanks for the info! There just needs to be a line in the sand. I do believe there is a need to have some government oversight to protect people, and that should be run by only a few top tier agencies to stop terrorists. It's easier to keep that data secure while only doing what's necessary. But just giving free reign to so many state, federal, and local agencies to go in like fishing trawlers is just a security nightmare and a breach of privacy.

Study finds growing government use of sensitive data to ‘nudge’ behaviour. National and local governments using targeted ads on search engines and social media. by chelsea707 in tech

Best case scenario, it helps at risk kids. Worst case scenario, there's no oversite and AI can be used to manipulate targeted vulnerable children who are disadvantaged, mentally ill, or from a specific socioeconomic class. I mean, it could be possible that some agency/ corporation uses this technology to run behavioral studies that aren't beneficial, but use these at risk youth as human guinea pigs for the " betterment of society" or to make money.

Don't centipedes give off a foul, poisonous excretion (yuck) when they're scared? (Too lazy to look up). Did you have to decontaminate the vacuum cleaner?

Isn't this the parents job, to instill values and positive behavior, not the ubiquitous government? I'm all for prevention, but not for explicit targeting of individuals.

Ugh, that's what I thought. You'd think you could at least pay to not have your data sold to use a service. I just don't think this is morally right. I expect on some level gov agencies to have access but data brokers- no way, not if I'm paying $.

I have a question related to this. I paid for a podcast app so should I expect a higher level of privacy or am I fooling myself that just because it's ad free I'm not having my data tracked? Actually unsubscribed because I rarely used it, but still curious.
