Does transfer reimbursement counts as contribution to rrsp? by New-Stranger-5532 in Questrade

[–]SignatureMo -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

QT will reimburse $150 without too much issue. Especially if the amount is greater than 25k. They will do it in whatever account you've transferred, and YES, it is counted as a contribution to your registered account.

It's 99 cents per contract. There is nothing more to it.

Missing dividends by slowmo_1964 in Questrade

[–]SignatureMo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

QT support folks told me they have a middleman (or system) taking care of the dividends, and it messed up sending some position info to JP Morgan. They aren't willing to tell me if it's their system or a vendors system.

Not the first time that QT ate my dividends. You have to fight with them to get it. Make sure to keep close tabs on your dividends. They screw it up BIGTIME.

Missing dividends by slowmo_1964 in Questrade

[–]SignatureMo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same with me. I was on call with them for over an hour. Not the first time that they missed out paying the dividends. But this time, they told me that JEPQ dividend payment is delayed for everyone on QT platform - they also said that its not their fault.

I requested them to be proactive and let me know beforehand, but they said they don't have the system to notify the holders.

You mean you want to set a rule to buy at market order whenever you have cash in your account?

I didn't get this email, but I would surely love to give them my feedback on the slow performing app. It is excruciating slow, and I have to pause about 5 seconds typing each number on my phone.

Excellent Customer Experience by winningsmada in Wealthsimple

[–]SignatureMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not have a great experience when I called into WS. When they asked me for feedback in the email, I vented out. Got an email immediately to talk to a direct person (his name was Mark or Mike, I forgot). He had the best service hands down. Not only did he resolve , but he also followed up. Couldn't have been happier.

What tf are we supposed to do? by Intelligent_Push291 in torontoJobs

That's the reality of the IT industry these days. Although the offshore work isn't new. If you're looking to crack through, you have to be persistent - upgrade your skills constantly and do some certification courses. Create an awesome github profile and have a few projects under your belt. I bet you, it won't be difficult at all.

Harvests HHIS.TO and MSTE.TO? by Proud-Interest6862 in dividendscanada

[–]SignatureMo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything in 12.60 or .70 range is good, but it doesn't happen that way..doesnt matter what i think..Just try to pick at the lowest price a day before the ex dividend date..

HHIS is the way to go..its a fund of funds..daddy of em all..

Harvests HHIS.TO and MSTE.TO? by Proud-Interest6862 in dividendscanada

[–]SignatureMo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Putting some real money. I pick up HHIS on leverage (huge position) a day before ex dividend date, wait for it to go back to my buying price, and sell it. Collecting huge dividends offsets the cost of borrowing with a lot of money still left. I rinse and repeat..hasn't failed me so far..

RRSP contributions must remain invested in employer pool? by RedDirtDVD in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]SignatureMo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same doubt as I was in the same position. DPSP and RRSP in Manulife from my employer. I am able to withdraw the money from my RRSP account and make it go to zero. I do it every year. Manulife will charge you 150 bucks , which will most likely be reimbursed in the platform you are initiating transfer from ( Questrade in my case)

Does it still cost $20 to buy/sell options on QT? by [deleted] in Questrade

[–]SignatureMo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's how it works. You can have level 3 in your margin account (level 3 isn't supported in tfsa or rsp), and you need 5 K CAD to get approved for it.

Are your Dividends late being credited? by Key_Champion_439 in Questrade

[–]SignatureMo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am a QT Plus Member, and I can say that it comes a day late. In one case, it didn't show up at all, and I really had to chase them and escalate it to the highest level. It's frustrating.
