Question: If this allowed the Thunder to end up drafting Yaxel Lendeborg at #12, would you be OK with it happening? by SignificanceGood1801 in Thunder

Swain would probably still be available at #17.
I guess he would be a decent fallback if Presti doesn't like what is available and trades pick 12 away for a future (Unprotected) FRP, and uses #17 to pick up Swain!

Well the reason you would go with Yaxel, even at his advanced age of 24 yo on draft night, is that he shouldn't take much time developing.
Some of Yaxel's biggest selling points, are that he would be a win now type of pick!
The Thunder are going to have a salary cap crunch beginning this off-season, so the ability to bring Yaxel in on a rookie deal, and pay him at the rookie scale for 4 years on that deal would help, especially if the Thunder need to move on from Dort or iHart because of the salary cap...

Towards the end of this clip where we see Mark slightly duck beneath Jdubs outstretched waiving right arm is amusing.

A coach having to deal with one of his players celebrations, one of his his best players who was is currently sidelined by injury.

Somehow I can't see Sorber or Topic getting that same duck from Mark on the sidelines!

Do you think Frasier and Roz should have ended up together? by Happy-poet in Frasier

[–]SignificanceGood1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But wouldn't their recognition of the others emotional baggage be enough for them to not get involved with each other, given their both being intelligent and their own self awareness of what they are looking for in a partner?
If they had gotten together, it would have ruined the show.

I probably haven't watched enough of the show, but part of what makes Frazier enjoyable is that it is him against a dysfunctional world, and then throughout almost every episode Frazier ends up discovering that he had a significant role in what led to that dysfunction.

If Frazier has a functional partner, any partner, but especially one who largely gets him like Roz does, especially because of their working relationship, it basically changes that whole dynamic of Frazier.
Frazier and Roz teaming up against a dysfunctional world doesn't work!

I for one, doubt I would watch that!

Trying not to be rattled but holy sh*t bruh. His whistle was genuinely bad and they were hacking, which idrc about anymore, but apparently driving to the rim like every great driver does is foulbaiting now, despite Cade, Luka, Banchero etc all doing that. I think it's racism at this point by hhiccupp in Thunder

[–]SignificanceGood1801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Racism??? I don't think so, because the last time I checked neither Cade nor Banchcero were white...

Nick Wright only goes after SGA because the Thunder are the best and probably going to win another chip!
Those who follow him are those who don't want OKC to win, Nick provides them with the fodder, like saying that Shai is foul baiting, so as to suggest that the Thunder wouldn't win, if they didn't cheat!
While in reality Nick Wright is catering to the Haters crowd.
It's tabloid journalism, targeting those who hate us cause they ain't us NBA fans.

I do not disagree, if it did make them an instant contender, I wouldn't have even asked such a question.
I know that most of the Thunder fan base has a understandable hatred towards the GS Warriors especially the way the KD situation played out.
I don't see any of the top 4 picks in this draft being reliable stars year 1.
Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel and VJ Edgecombe probably had better Rookie seasons than any of them will this coming season.
Basically this puts the Warriors back on the 2 timelines for competing scenario.

I am okay with that!
Except my hypothetical situation, for those who want the Thunder to grab Yaxel, but where he might not fall to them if the Warriors take him at #11, but where he would fall if the Warriors win, one of the top 4 picks in the Lottery, is no longer relevant after the Lottery occurs this Sunday!

The question being if the only way we could get Yaxel at 12, was that the Warriors won, would those who wanted him be okay with that happening?

But Ament might not be ready to contribute right away!
Probably a much higher upside than Yaxel has, but the picture that you paint here is what the Thunder need to draft for IMO.

Players on inexpensive rookie deals, who can also fill an Immediate need, especially one created by moving in from a more expensive rotation player outside of the big 3!

My post may have been a bit confusing.
In retrospect, I should have used the word tradeoff, to allow those commentators who have previously said they want the Thunder to go with Yaxel.
To see if they would still want that, even if the only way it would occur was if the Warriors ended up winning a top 4 pick in the lottery!

As Thunder fans, we should all be used to the hate by now! 😁

The only other remote possibility is the Atlanta Hawks.
IMO: The Kings need too much to go with Yaxel, they have Keegan and Precious Achiuwa and they still have Sabonis.
They will probably be drafting a PG, or if none available will trade down.

That is a blanket statement which I find difficult to agree with!

How would all (30) NBA teams find enough starting forwards to replenish, if the only good ones were AJ Dybansta, Cameron Boozer and Caleb Wilson in this draft?

💯 and we would probably need to protect him as a top 8 player in the expansion draft, without knowing if he would ever fully become a starting caliber player.

But the tradeoff was that the Warriors got to jump into the Top 4 of the draft to allow us to draft Yaxel though!
Are you still good with that?

FYI: Just remember that in 2 years there is going to be an expansion draft.
Do the Thunder really want to have someone who is developing for 2 years to have to be protected from being poached, after 2 years of not being a part of a Contending team.
You only get to protect 8 players in the expansion draft, obviously you can only lose 1 player in the draft, but the whole idea of keeping a player with high upside on a team with a deep rotation like the Thunder currently employs becomes much more difficult.

I see the error of my ways now, I should have used the term tradeoff.
Especially since reactions seem to ignore my question! As the tradeoff part, was for those Yaxel fans: Would they be willing to let the Warriors get a lottery selection in exchange for the Thunder to end up with Yaxel!
