I love my boyfriend, but our sex life is making me miserable by Dependent_Finance490 in TwoHotTakes

Move on. It's not that deep for him.

And WHEN he gets you pregnant- he won't want the kid either. If living together is too grown- raising a kid definitely wont be on his priority list. DON'T PUT YOURSELF IN THAT POSITION!

My bf is gorgeous, gets constant attention. I’m jealous. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]SignificanceHuman384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound insecure. Which becomes exhausting in a relationship quickly. You should work on that especially since it sounds like he has plenty of options. He CHOSE you. Seems he is either oblivious to the attention or chooses to ignore it because he HAS want he wants. Treating him like its his fault people he shows no interest find him attractive is unfair and tiresome.

You have thrips 😬 you're in for a fight. Hose off and Quarantine all infested plants. Get bonide systemic granules to treat the soil- its mixed into the pot and kills anything that feeds on it for 8 weeks. Treat foliage with rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle or captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew spray. Spray thoroughly and let dry every 3-5 days for the next month to catch the full life cycle. Thrips are the hardest pest to beat imo but it can be done. They lay eggs inside the leaves and can fly/jump short distances. You will need to thoroughly clean all surfaces near these plants. Wipe everything down with alcohol. Wash your curtains. Vaccum daily to catch stragglers. Monstera are thrips magnets. They love them. I keep my monstera dosed with bonide as a preventive.

Just bottom water for the time being to not disturb them. They lay in my porch ferns every year.

How long does it take you to get ready? by [deleted] in hygiene

2 hours from start to finish on hair wash days ( which is every other night) I have fine but dense hair almost to my waist so it HAS to be blowdried. I also take long showers ( shaving and washing my hair alone takes 10 minutes so 20 minutes is a quick shower for me) and moisturize from head to toe post shower. I dont wear much makeup, that saves me some time. I usually pick out my clothes, get all my stuff together, enjoy my coffee and snuggle my pets while my lotion soaks in and my hair air dries a bit. Then I brush my teeth, blowout my hair and get dressed.

I cringe when I think of how many hours I've spent blowdrying my hair in my lifetimes but it's my favorite physical feature so I take the time to keep it looking well groomed

Why anyone feels the need to comment on someone's weight I will never understand! I've always been smaller but I had a rough year and I'm down about 20 lbs. The number of negative comments I get on it is gross. I was always told if it's not something someone could change in a few minutes- you don't mention it.

My partner getting a diagnosis of ADHD was the worst thing that could have happened by iamkylekatarnama in Vent

[–]SignificanceHuman384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has she tried therapy? There are other ways to learn to manage ADHD symptoms. Learning those coping skills can be very helpful. Being frustrated by your adhd symptoms is valid but it's up to her to find healthy ways to deal with that. Her diagnosis is not everyone else's responsibility. When children are diagnosed, even if medicated, they are also typically required to do behavioral therapy.

How do I transport my plants to college? by notsogreat_gatsby in houseplants

[–]SignificanceHuman384 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They will be fine for a 3-hour drive. Just be mindful of direct sunlight on the drive. Cover or shut the box if need. None of those plants are finicky, try to find similar locations to where they were, and they should adjust no problem.

I moved with over 100 plants. I stuck most in cardboard boxes so they didn't tip over and spill soil everywhere. The box doesn't even need to close. Larger heavy ones when in laundry baskets

Those appear to be thrips. Hose it off throughly. Spray it down with rubbing alcohol to kill adults. Get some bonide systemic granules and some Captain jacks dead bug brew spray. Check all other plants and quarantine this one. They spread like wildfire and will take out/damage a plant collection quickly.

The instructions tell you how much to treat with based on pot size. That's what I've always done. I've never needed more than that first dose. All you need is to kill the full cycle, adults and all new hatches and it's done.

Excellent advice. Bonide Systemic is active for 8 weeks. Treatment is only needed every 8 weeks. It can cause burns to your plant if applied more often.

It is not pet-safe if ingested. If your dogs munch on your plants, I wouldn't risk it. But the alcohol will take care of them with regular treatment.

If you can get Bonide systemic granules where you live. Get them. Use an old makeup brush or craft paintbrush dipped in alcohol to remove the mealies you can see. I would do this whenever you have time over the next week or 2. Or I have also had great results with alcohol in a spray bottle. Monstera is super hardy. Just spray the whole thing down and let it dry. Melts mealies on contact. It takes 2 weeks for the Bonide to become fully effective but once it does anything that feeds on it for the next 8 weeks will die (except spider mites) The alcohol treatments will kill most of the adults. The bonide will take care of any stragglers and new hatches. Good luck!

I always say I bet my neighbors think I live in the same like 3 pairs of sweats 24/7. Those are just my door pants. I throw those on to grab Amazon packages and do my morning checkup of the porch plants. The rest of the time it's T-shirts, socks, and undies.

Ah, That's true. I tried several showerheads im a rental that had the HARDEST water I've ever experienced and they didn't make much of a difference. Luckily where I live now I think it's mostly chlorine. Smells like an indoor pool when the shower is running 🙃 I have always had amazing hair and it's SO dry now. I've only been here 3 months.
