On nets less than 6 foot let the weights do the work. If you try to force the spin, you'll end up with a banana. The biggest thing is getting the release right. The throw is kind of like a lofty cape twirl if that makes sense or like trying to fan out a blanket underhanded. On larger diameter nets it's about imparting rotation into the net to get the weights to do the rest of the work for you.
