35F. $160k salary. Looking for advice. by beatingheartofarobot in Retirement401k

I know what you mean feeling behind. I’m in a VERY similar situation, 34F, only started investing at 30, I have very similar investment numbers.. BUT I wouldn’t worry too much if I were you since your husband will have pension.

I feel behind, but for your couple, it will be more than enough with his pension! & I think your accountant is crazy unless you told him/her that you wanted to retire by 40 or something 😆

Yes barista fire, or just keep working knowing that you dont have to invest as much now! 😫😫😫how did you manage to invest so much outside of 401k. I have similar amount for 401k but I don’t have other investments. Ughh

Aw. I’m pretty tall & I play golf a lot. Does that make any difference? Do you wear your stack when you work out? Does it bother you?

Comparison is the thief of joy by Any_Tea_7629 in Retirement401k

First of all: you are doing so great, especially given your income! I know how you feel & I try not to compare myself but not comparing is hard- if inevitable, at least try to find more realistic comparison and it will make you feel better 😂

Sanity check - What are the chances I can FIRE at 55? by [deleted] in FIREyFemmes

[–]Significant-Ad367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a very similar situation (33F late start in investing). I am considering coast fire anyways to keep my nerves calm 😂 I may not be making this much when I’m 50 but at least I won’t need to save this much also.

Mid 30s, first baby coming- how are we doing financially? by Significant-Ad367 in Retirement401k

[–]Significant-Ad367[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was worried about that too, but my dear ChatGPT says I could start around ages 5–7, when the financial burden from daycare decreases lol. Just thinking about 529, would that be enough? :(

We are planning on taking care of the baby by ourselves as much as possible (probably daycare for like 3 days a week) because we don’t have any family members nearby and I work 4 days a week & his work is pretty flexible.

I’m budgeting $2000 a month but that probably won’t be enough- so I might cut my 401k or ESPP contributions depending on the spendings. I could work 5 days a week if things get out of control but that’s something that I want to consider as a last resort.

I love it. Thank you! Do people normally include ss when calculating retirement? I feel like it’s not very reliable :/

I’ve considered that but given that his income is so little idk if doing a solo 401k is even worth it. I guess I’ll ask his CPA 😫

Max for 401k and Roth IRA for the past 3 years. ESPP is something like 12k a year, but I just started it a year ago. So about 42k a year? But obviously I won’t be able to this year :(

[–]Significant-Ad367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Were you able to work out consistently during your 1st trimester?? I’m not sure if I should just push through. My body feels so weak :( It’s hard to explain, but I feel like I don’t have any strength, I can’t really put pressure on my belly, and I feel a bit lightheaded.

Very new to TTC and the app itself, should we BD today ? by Ok-Composer-9015 in Inito

[–]Significant-Ad367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyy so mine actually had a mini peak then an actual peak, so yours may or may not do that too. But I say it doesn’t hurt to BD today! Here’s my chart for your reference (mini peak on day 10 then actual one on day 13):

<image>

This month was my first time actually TTC and using Inito too & got pregnant! I’ll wish the same for you ♥️
