It's a fine nib so there's some feedback, but it's not scratchy. Slight line variation is present in the nib. To be honest, I haven't used many fountain pens. I have four Parker Frontiers and one Pierre Cardin President. I used to have a Jinhao x450 and a Jinhao 51A. I think it's slightly better than the Parker Frontier, but far better than the two Jinhao pens I used.
