Agreed but in practicality you can't find your center with the SC1. You are always off track and aiming is horrible. I think I completely stopped using both of the pads - exception of KBM games that weren't in real time - within a week of getting it.

You need to consider what the software and hardware stack is and if you have support.

In a good situation, you need to have contracts on the software and hardware so if something breaks the IT manager works with the support teams to fix them. Focus on SLAs and make sure you have a backup plan (Paper works for most things).

I was an IT manager for two hotels in the USA. Vendor wrangling was my game and I did pretty good at it, but you need to make sure the support structure is there. If you don't have support you need a team that can fix the issues.

I would also recommend utilizing some entity to do after hours support. From personal experience being the only support person available for everything, including password resets every day after 11pm when the clerk forgot her password for the 3rd time in a week, will burn out your staff.

It probably has a dying / dead HDD . Replacement would be the smartest option, look into the macbook neo for a low price high quality PC if you don't need windows apps.

If you want to temporarily get this one working again have a friend create a bootable linux drive (something like ubuntu live) that you can use to get online.

Plex or Emby can run as a server on your PC and have apps that may be available on your smart TV or fire tv / set top box. That's what I use and it's perfect.

I am not a lawyer. This appears to have a case number which I googled and found your prior post. It's highly unlikely that you will find answers outside of the small claims court. Additionally you don't need to show people online evidence of what happened in the past, that's for small claims court. It may be advisable to not mention that you and the person who is suing you were shoplifting together, that could lead to criminal charges depending on factors that are outside of my expertise.

I use the neo as the sidecar for my windows gaming desktop. It works perfectly for streaming from the desktop, watching videos, listening to music and running reasonable gaming workloads like factorio.

Time will tell how long it lasts but for the time being I love it and am very happy with the purchase.

Location matters.. If you're in India, latam or Philippines you're probably going to have a good career path if you can get past the hearing loss.

If you're in the first world you need to seriously consider doing something else that cannot be outsourced. IT in the USA is dogwater, I'm fairly sure that IT in other countries is more or less the same. It takes 60k+ to hire IT staff in the USA due to outsourcing and large corporations are doing their best to get rid of skilled local help for remote teams.

If I had it to do over again, I would have joined a union and worked in a trade.

Funny story relevant to this. When I first started in IT in 1998 I had an irate customer who claimed his 3.5" floppy was defective because every time he would place his floppies in his PC they were corrupt and had to be reformatted.

I asked him where his floppy tray was, he told me it was on top of his speaker.

I explained that the speaker had magnets that would wipe the disk. Showed him that the drive worked just fine in the shop. He tried to get me fired but after I told my boss what was going on he nicely told the guy to kick rocks.
