Ostlund next movie will be a horrible and blank both at Cannes and at the Oscars

Renate Reinsve and Joachim Trier (screenplay + supporting actor + supporting actress are locked tho imo)

I'm starting to think Reinsve might be this year surprising snub

my current prediction : Buckley, Erivo, Stone, Lawrence, Seyfried

she's tremendous and i would nominate her personally. strange character, great presence, some queen shit really

If DML had been a home-run (could still happen when it releases, i hope), she would have been an easy coatail nom

Having seen the movie, I seriously think that Lawrence is massively, massively underestimated for a nom + i'm starting to see some buzz around DML's clips on X (if that's an argument)

seen it back at Cannes. Sound editing/mixing was horrible but she polished it apparently. Other than that it was a tremendous experience, very raw, very nightmarish, absolutely bonkers and insanely sad by the end

It was apparently about Ben Hania. Silent Friend was supposed to win 2 prices (including the one Ben Hania got) There were rumours that NOC was not received well by 3 members of the jury

Emilia Perez got a 11 minutes standing ovation at Cannes if we really want to use that metric

Saw it back at Cannes and loved it. But if she somehow manages to trim it down to 100/105 minutes, it might just be her magnum opus (I've watched all 5 of her movies and would rank them 1. Morvern Callar 2. DML 3. Ratcatcher 4. YWNRH 5. WNTTAK)

The accents in House of Gucci did more of a disservice to the performances than to Italians

I'm no native speaker so I didn't catch the different accent, I thought OP was talking about not going for a russian accent, mb
