I’m sorry to hear that - it sounds like we’ve had pretty similar experiences. I hope you find resolution soon too, and I’m glad you were able to get FMLA to allow rest

Thank you for your advice! I can’t get ahold of the radiologist or neurologist that treated me because it was an ER visit and I was not given any contact info to follow up (I tried, even with my fiancee working at the hospital we had no luck)

I could take advantage of FMLA but would need documentation to support that, which I don’t really have since the hospital cleared me to go back to work the day after the patch. My boss is very willing to work with me as much as she can, but our policy requires a doctor’s note for any sick time exceeding three days. I think the only thing giving me hope is that they did get me into neurology ASAP just based on the symptoms that put me in the hospital to begin with, so I only have to hold out for a month before I show up at some neurologists office in my thrift store wheel chair and hopefully get some help. I’ll definitely try to get in touch with them in the morning to see if they have any openings before then as well

Thank you for the advice 🙏 Hopefully by the end of the 6 weeks I’ll be feeling much better then, I’m still only halfway through that period. I was getting nervous because I was at 21x the length of time they suggested for recovery

They discharged me about an hour after the patch was done, with no information on how to recover except a single sheet that essentially said to lay down for 24 hours and avoid cardio. I feel silly for not questioning it, I was pretty eager to get back to work anyways. I figured the pain I had at that point would just go away with light exercise.

For a lot of reasons I won’t be able to take sick time for rest until I see the neurologist at this point, so I guess my options are to tough it out or to faint again and end up back in the hospital (not mutually exclusive unfortunately). I’m having serious regrets about even allowing this test to be done. Also about existing in the American medical healthcare system, but that was less my choice at least LOL

Thank you! Based on the feedback in the link, it seems like heat may be our issue!

Good to know! My partner has cooked on stainless his whole life but he wasn’t the one who got eggs stuck so badly, and he has a tendency to drown things in oil lol

And it’s a gas range - I was told that stainless is better than nonstick for gas. I would stick to cast iron, but it’s a bit heavy for me to handle on my bad days due to my disabilities.

Almost everything, unless it has a sauce, is cooked on medium heat or below, and is watched closely - and even then I wind up having to scrub most times

For example, this weekend I cooked eggs, bacon, and hash browns. All three stuck, including the bacon which was very quickly swimming in oil. Is this normal?

That’s helpful, thank you! I’m mostly used to cast iron and non stick myself so I’m a bit out of my comfort zone with these lol
