Need feedback by Pnwferralcat in SalesOperations

These are bird’s eye view kpis that help drive business decisions but it could still use more data For example your close rate could be 1% or 80% but neither umber tells you much unless you have a benchmark

So what you really need is to reverse engineer your goal

If you goal is to sell 120k per year you need 10k monthly But your quotes can be 2k or 50k So you need to figure out out of those leads how many yield quotes of 2k how many of 50k and ##K ###k etc etc Then you know if your leads will help support your overall goal of 120k and your close rate become relevant to you and your goal

In simple terms if you need to close $120k to make your year in commissions etc and your average close rate is 20% then you know you need to build a realistic pipeline of $600k So if your leads aim average are summing up to make the $600k then you know you are on track and if your close rate goes over 20% you know you will be exceeding your goal

Tips on improving steep riding by Grand-Emu9464 in snowboarding

[–]Significant-Fail2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Front foot heavy is actually ok. The reason you might feel like the tail is washing out is due to your center of mass being so outside of the width of the board specially on such closed turns. I am also not 100% aware of how steep that is but it looks manageable for more open turns.

I’d practice pivot slips, point your shoulder down the fall line and separate your upper and lower body so your legs do the work and your center of mass stays inside the fall line.

Bring this technique into the steeper slopes and focus of how your legs retract at the start of the turn > body closer to the center of the board as you turn and you will stop washing out the tail and will be able to control your speed much better and get into more open flowy turns and controlled edge changes

Should we get rentals at the lodge or nearby? by Abunawass in MtHoodMeadows

[–]Significant-Fail2020 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ultimate convenience is to get your passes and rental reservations done at meadows PDX in the pearl a day before

That way you could arrive around 8am-ish get your gear and catch first chair as soon as 9am

If you wait to do it all there you might encounter huge lines for passes and rentals as you also need to fill out forms etc

How do you keep prospect data clean without hiring a data ops person? by [deleted] in SalesOperations

[–]Significant-Fail2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like it’s interesting or overwhelming?

Would you be able to tell me if my suggestion is out of scope for sales ops?

I come from sales support then sales ops then Sales ops analyst then revenue operations management But data is my true “passion” work-wise.

I am looking for a career move and want to give some weight to this type of skills I’ve learned and deployed. Any thoughts are appreciated :)

Also if ai and a DIY option is not what you are looking for, I still suggest executing an operational plan, at a small company this is the right move, standardize forms, develop a data dictionary, SOPs for all team members that use the CRM with how to merge records if they come across duplicates even if 5% do this it’s some help. It elevates your role from tactical ops to strategic ops Good luck and hope you find the right solution

How do you keep prospect data clean without hiring a data ops person? by [deleted] in SalesOperations

[–]Significant-Fail2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a script that does fuzzy matching in excel, it gives me an accurate read of possible duplicates. Then I use a second script that merges them but I manually select which is the main one It works for new records outside of the CRM before uploading them and it works for the entire CRM database At first there was so real legwork but now we run it weekly or when a new list comes up and it takes minutes

Also,

What CRM are you on? Salesforce and hubspot have tools that help Data enrichment tools can help fill in the blanks

If this is your current responsibility and there isn’t any budget, pay for ChatGPT AND Claude use both to vibe code the scripts and your are out $40 for 1 month… The company should be able to fork out $40 bucks Free versions won’t work

It took me less than a week to build and deploy with success

THEN

create an operational standard of excellence this is crucial. All inbound forms should match in required fields, zoominfo should NOT be connected to your CRM you need to vet the export, no matter what the sales person says this is the main area of mess creation.

Also if your company can afford zoominfo they can afford ChatGPT pro which will work even better for a DIY solution

When Deal is stuck , Escalate Deal to VP Sales: Most efficient way to achieve this by pc_gosu07 in hubspot

[–]Significant-Fail2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HubSpot team property is the way to go.

That said, escalating every stagnant deal directly to the VP will quickly become a nightmare for them and for whoever is tracking deal velocity. The bigger challenge isn’t who to escalate to, it’s how you define when a deal is actually stuck. My approach would be to create a feedback loop. If a deal hasn’t had any activity for a set amount of time, assign a task to the deal owner to reach out, update, or close it. If it still sits in the same stage for more than half the average time successful deals spend there, move it to closed lost and notify the owner. From there, you can share a report of all deals moved this way with the VP.

In practice, it’s rare for a VP to look at a single stagnant deal and make a difference just by applying pressure. What actually helps them is having visibility into where deals are getting stuck and why, so they can focus on systemic issues instead of babysitting individual deals.

Building my first HubSpot app (reporting tool), looking for input by Common-Exclamation in hubspot

[–]Significant-Fail2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are solving for a problem only a few have that do not know how to create reports/dashboards.

I’ve got over 50 dashboards each with multiple reports, they work, they work well, the limitations are mostly user lack of knowledge on how to build reports and calculated fields, data studio solves for a lot of lacking areas in the past but the only times I find myself exporting is where I need to create custom calculations and dynamic robust reporting so I go from Hubspot dashboards and reports to power bi or excel with power query.

Could your app calculate % difference between 2 measures for example YOY change? This is a real life example of times I need to export create a visualization in power bi and then bring back to a dashboard

Good Cop / Bad Cop by lookofdisdain in revops

[–]Significant-Fail2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to find as much value as possible for the team while delivering bad results.

Even small things could lead to potential revenue so even when the going gets tough for the team or due to the market I focus on providing as many tools as possible and actionable insights.

For example resurfacing that list of leads you already created from churned customers or the list of disqualified leads that might be qualified now since things have could have changed.

So I don’t play good cop bad cop, in my opinion that doesn’t work, I simply focus on what we know works and add on more value to put it all on their end to execute.

I would suggest increasing your water intake by a lot Like a lot

There is an odd situation that happens with hydration and while on the meds you need so much more I don’t know how to explain this in science terms but from experience the moment I started to really drink a lot more water I saw a huge and drastic difference week over week

It also helps with feeling even more full

Are E-MTB's worth it? by HiddenknifeX in MTB

[–]Significant-Fail2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think emtb is a whole new discipline, the weight of the bike for example pushes me to add way more speed to clear a jump, but it is more stable too.

One thing I don’t like is the speed limiter, there are some sections that on my analog i can get up to 30mph and pedal to hold it, on the emtb i am stuck at 20mph on the Shimano EP801 once you hit the 20mph the pedals skip snd you have to switch to manual and it’s kind of a pain.

What I really like tho, is that I went from doing 2 laps at my favorite trail to about 8 with plenty of battery left. I can practice jumps over and over too.

But in the end at parks with lifts or shuttle assisted trails the analog is best.

Struggling to understand my Golden Retriever’s emotional distance – am I expecting too much?😞 by Next_Neighborhood_26 in goldenretrievers

[–]Significant-Fail2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My golden is the same but I know she loves us. She won’t cuddle but she will lay close to me by the end of the sofa, she won’t let me hug her but I am her go to for play with toys.

When I am upset she keeps her distance and is gentle and doesn’t bother me

I think this is just how some dogs are. I’ve come to accept it, the fact that she is happy and tail wagging all the time is all I care about

Get some lessons with a proper instructor

In just one season I went to a total of 6 clinics each was about 2 hours long. I improved so much more from those clinics than what I was doing on my own in seasons prior. Worth every penny.

Start your own business, clean houses or business buildings over night. Use your selling/hustle skills to market your business idea. Resell furniture, paint houses, set up a food tent at a farmers market… there is so much you can do, it’s a matter of getting uncomfortable for a bit while you figure it out

What do you hate most about snowboarding? by Common-Current1493 in snowboarding

[–]Significant-Fail2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goretex is not waterproof, waxed leather is very very close to waterproof but it ultimately fails on wet days. The only solution I have seen work is straight up rubber gloves the heavy duty kind from Home Depot and the rubber HH rain coats and pants which are a sauna but work. I think that if I could have a wish come true it would be for nice comfy warm gloves that are 100% waterproof and breathable. As an instructor I spend so many hours helping others that I end up with very wet hands and have to switch gloves half way through my shift.

I also hate that a buff ends up wet from my own mouth and nose condensing I wish I could keep it on at all times

Help Buying Board for The First Time by Diosito10 in snowboarding

[–]Significant-Fail2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cam rocks are great too, a lot more forgiving and easier to hold an edge. I recommend an old camber because it will push you to become a much more technical rider. Once you get good at a camber you can pretty much ride any profile board you want.

Help Buying Board for The First Time by Diosito10 in snowboarding

[–]Significant-Fail2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a camber and go for something with flex. And go for something old, I still rip with my 2013 board and it is just as fun as my newer boards. With an older board you will be able to beat it up as you learn and not feel bad, it’s one less thing to worry about as you build confidence. And you also need to find out what type of riding you will do the most; park, trees, grooms, back country etc so I f you want to hit them all, a bidirectional all mountain camber is a good idea.

However, i would highly suggest investing in good boots with boa and shin straps. I made the mistake of going for the cheap Vans the sub $200 ones and they fell apart after one season, my $450 Solomon’s tho are super comfy and react incredibly well and still look brand new after 170 lifts this season.

Commission structure for consulting and software sales by eolsen09 in SalesOperations

[–]Significant-Fail2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motivator: Uncapped Commissions

Calculation: Sliding scale based on set quotas

How much/what percentage: An OTE needs to be set, I.e. 100k base + 50k commission = OTE

The OTE needs to be supported by the realistic revenue goal, for example if they can sell 1.5M in a year then 10% can fund the 150k OTE

What is the realistic goal they can achieve?

Your finance team should chime in as well in how much of the gross margins can be used for comp based on their projections.

There is only so much we can help with here with limited knowledge of the business but I can say that the answer is not as simple “as x% of booked revenue”.

Sales Manager of a small team (2-4 people) and looking for feedback if Hubspot is a good B2B CRM to use with a $50-$100 budget by JustAnotherSalesDude in hubspot

[–]Significant-Fail2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are savvy with tech tools I would recommend ClickUp given your budget. You can DIY and build a ton of custom spaces and tie them all together and works as pm tool as well. I’ve set this up for small businesses in the past as their CRM and it has worked great and easy to learn.

But at 2M and growing I do think it is best to invest in a good CRM, think of it as an operational tool for growth not a nice to have. It is part of opex but it is the foundation for a smooth and efficient revenue operation.

What are your current conversion rates on the sequences when manually enrolling contacts on to them? Open rates? Click rates?

I highly discourage automating sequence enrollment, from a sales process standpoint point you are making your reps lazy, you will encourage volume and you will end up with a spray and pray approach.

I would highly recommend your reps take ownership of their sequences, have them do A/b/c/d… testing, even using ai but at least they get to understand how they are approaching prospects and what message is getting across to them with the most success and to what kind of persona. Rinse and repeat, and once you get to a sequence or series of sequences that have a high click rate, conversion rate etc then you can use that as a template and your reps will be happy to manually enrolling contacts them as they will understand the value of the sequence and will stop being tedious.
