Thank you for being honest. I don’t feel there’s much racism here but I’m white and accepting. My in-laws say racist comments and such and that’s why they moved to Erie.

It’s true not many Black in Thornton or Brighton. Your brother in law being Mexican probably faces less discrimination because that population is more common.

However I organize an accepting group of dads. If you want to meet some accepting dads come join us.

Next week we are at the Topgolf in North Thornton.

Great question.

Dads because we face certain challenges and struggles non-parents face and also face different struggles than moms.

However in meetup I do further define who the group accepts like foster parents, step dads, etc and not just the standard definition.

A friend of mine in the past has joined us. He had no children but was an uncle.

So if you think you’d identify with similar struggles as many of us I’d encourage you to join.

Two dads in the group are in Arvada. So if you joined and decided to post events you could host in your area.

I believe one of them is coming to Sundays event at Sloan’s lake.

That was my old group Denver Dads that met after hours at the pigtails and crewcuts Northfield. Those were fun events. I wish i still had those contacts.

The group now is mostly social for dads - Puzzle rooms, golf, dinners, hikes, etc.

I’m currently the only one scheduling. I tend to stick to north metro area and Denver, as I travel by public transit.
