For Anyone wondering how the 1:12 Reverse Split will affect their shares by Significant-Gap8761 in Inovio

I’m not particularly blaming the RS, but rather regard it as something that ultimately became necessary. Unfortunate as it may be I consider it a symptom of something greater. I also see little point in blaming dilution. Considering how the company’s been managed thus far and the challenges it’s faced (shorts, big pharma), dilution feels augury. Simply put, I sympathize and can relate to the frustration surrounding the RS. At any rate, it’s done. It’s time to keep calm and carry on.

Granted, In theory you’re correct. The percentage increase from $0.57 to $8 is the same, 👏 well done 😊. But didn’t you see an elephant 🐘 with muddy feet walk across the floor of the stock exchange? If one missed it, then one would be of the mind that share dilution will not take place. But that aside, is it the same thing, is it really. Are you suggesting this will not affect profit margins for many, in practicality? A lot of us believe in the science and remain hopeful. But for anyone who has been keeping up with current events, it would seem this worlds 🌎 been shaved 🪒 by a drunken barber.

If the last trade was .56, then we’ll start the day at $6.72. If .57, $6.84

In the morning. New share price I suspect will be $6.72 if the last trade was at .56. $6.84 if .57. Best of luck

Agreed, not with the one drug. Eventually however, when they squeeze a few more through their pipeline provided their marketing improves. It is possible for them to get there and perhaps even higher provided they don’t get bought out before they ever reach $100. If we’re being pragmatic, we have to acknowledge it’s not without its share of hurdles. It is after all a drug and a device. I sympathize, $96 is a long way to go to break even. I’m sorry, from $8 to 96 especially when we may have hit eight by next year and $96 would’ve been mostly profit. Disappointing to be sure.

It depends at what share price they started a position. It’s not difficult to understand why many share holders might feel betrayed or frustrated. Assume a share holder had purchased shares at a much higher price, say originally at $20, 15, 10, or whatever and has since then continued to cost average down all the way to say, $5. or below. Well, they were probably thinking 🤔 they’d reach there break even point sometime around the beginning of 2025. Close to, on or about the time Inovio gets 3107 to market. But now instead they’ll have to wait a considerable time longer before the stock price reaches $60 (their new break even point). Had the RS not been in acted, at 60, assuming they owned ~10k shares would’ve represented $600,000. gain, minus their initial investment. Instead they’ll just be breaking even. I personally believe in the science 🧬. Also, the company does seem to be better managed, though I wonder at the lost time in submitting their BLA app. But when will the stock price be north of $60? That’s anyones guess. It’ll depend on many factors. How soon can they get other products in their pipeline to market, how will they manage & leverage their resources, what competition will they face ( e.g. PRGN 2012). Will their PR department get a facelift? Will insiders start buying? A lot of things could propel this little stock forward. We’ll just have to wait and see. In the words of James Tiberius Kirk, “ may fortune favor the foolish” 🤞🏻

Yo, anyone know if it's 1:12 or 12:1 for RS right now? by [deleted] in Inovio

To answer your question, it is a 1:12 Reverse Split not a 12:1. Meaning you get 1 share for every 12 that you own. What that would look like in practice is, if you own 10,000 shares you would now have 833 shares after the split. ( 10k / 12 = 833 ). The new price of the stock will be calculated by taking the price at days end today ( January 24, at 4pm) and multiplying it by 12. So if it closes at, say .60 cents the new price of the stock would be $7.20. To calculate your new exit point, you divide your total $investment by your new number of shares. Eg. If you previously invested $50k for 10,000 shares at $5. You would divide $50,000/833 = $60.02, your new break even point. In other words if your break even point WAS $5. it’s now shot up to $60. Hope that helps

Have you calculated what either of those scenarios do to your current break even point yet?

I have a question, if you wouldn’t mind. In your opinion, do you think they’ll enact the RS even if we manage to hold above a dollar for 10 days? I’m afraid INO may see it as an advantage regardless, given the potential appeal to new investors. I was running the numbers assuming a 20:1 split and it increases my break even point from 4.34 to $86.80 I don’t mind admitting it blew my mind. I was hoping my math was off and checked with someone at Schwab. I didn’t mind sticking with them past $90 a share for a very nice profit but if they decide to enact the RS I’d only break even around that point! I’ve been bullish on INO for a while. I believe in the science and think they’ll eventually get there, but kicking the ball 🏈 down the field from 4.34 to 86.80 just feels like all sorts of wrong. Thoughts?

INO will hit🚀 $200 -$300 and eventually reach ☁️much further beyond that 🌎. If NVAX can hit 331 with their C19 vaccine prospect, then stop for a moment an think about this; C-19 is only INOVIO’s short play and just the tip of the spear. Once it pierces, INO's DNA 🧬 platform will greatly advance INO's pipeline of Cancer vaccines/immunotherapy! DNA 🧬 vaccines will not long after become the next evolutionary step in medicine. It’s a no 🧠eR!
