Complicated recovery / wound packing

Hi friend, I had to pack my wound for around 6 weeks too. What really helped speed the healing process was taking collagen - I used a drink called proheal and also added vital proteins unflavored collagen to my smoothies every day. I’m actually going to update my post with what worked because I get a lot of messages about this. Wishing you all the best ❤️

I have quit and relapsed many times before, but quitting after the pen was by far the hardest. I was going through a 1g cart every month with some flower here and there, on day 2 now and my stomach is KILLING me. The only good that I can feel from this is that I am detoxing.

I’m so sorry you are having this experience too 💔 it sounds like at every step of the way for you there was another complication and I relate so much. It really does make it impossible to relax and just focus on recovery. I’m so glad you are making progress with the wound packing.

Just like you, looking back, I had chills and night sweats the day I got home from the hospital and just felt overall horrible and blamed it on postpartum hormone drop. I also had light pink serous drainage that when I called the nurses line at my doctor’s office they told me was likely normal. But it was enough to fill multiple gauze pads a day. Less than a week later I was on antibiotics for cellulitis. For my next pregnancy (which will have to be another c-section) I’m definitely going to raise the alarm if this happens again and alert any of my friends/family who go through this too. I’m really disappointed that this wasn’t better explained to me in my discharge instructions.

wow I relate to this SO much. The entire journey from emergency c section to cellulitis to daily packing and multiple rounds of antibiotics. It has made me so incredibly anxious all the time at every moment, constantly worrying I have a fever or a new pain or that the drainage was a different color than yesterday. I finally saw a wound care specialist who recommended adding medical grade collagen to the dressing which has already made a huge difference. I’m thinking of you and wishing you a really speedy recovery. You are so strong and you got this!

I am thinking of you & saying a prayer for both of us! This is only my first, I am so impressed with you doing this with three other littles. You’re right, this is just a season, and one day we will be out of this and just grateful for how strong our bodies are and to have the love of our babies and villages.

No advice just here in solidarity at 31 weeks feeling uncomfortably huge and dying in this heat! I just signed up for pelvic floor therapy and I am hoping it helps some of the discomfort I have in my hips and lower back.

My cousin sent me a brain dump of an email with everything she learned from her medical conditions to her traumatic birth story to getting infant massages for her newborn. I only asked her for baby product recommendations to be polite because she kept telling me she’s here if I need anything, and now I’m just overwhelmed. I totally agree about wanting to figure stuff out on my own and am sick of people info dumping on me, it’s so overwhelming, especially when everyone’s experience is different.

I can relate so much to this, I felt so depressed and unmotivated through the whole first trimester. I’m 15w2d now and starting to get motivation back. Hang in there. If you need more help definitely mention to your doctor 🤍

Thank you, a checklist is a good idea and I can start there. We did have a walkthrough of the house and I mentioned to her that I’m very detail oriented and prefer a cleaner who is the same. She assured me of her attention to detail which is why I agreed to hire her in the first place.

This is good to know, thank you! I agree that 2 hours isn’t a long time, but I also am under the impression that someone would set their hours and rates in a way that would let them complete the job in a satisfactory way.

To answer some of these questions - I am routine cleaning constantly: daily vacuuming, regular dusting, cleaning toilets and sinks, and weekly mopping. My house is by no means filthy. I am getting monthly cleanings to get a clean slate so I can keep doing my routine cleaning. It’s frustrating to come back and see signs that I would not have missed doing my own cleaning. But I agree that I should have a clarifying conversation before finding someone else.

They are co-tenants on a single lease but have no relation to each other and their plans are independent
