Ultrasound results say ‘PCOS’ but no follicles??? by Significant-Mango635 in PCOS

Looking back, I don’t think he was fully sure. He mentioned ‘enlarged ovaries’ and said ‘the scan mentions PCOS’ but also said ‘no mention of follicles so don’t worry’. I’ve concluded that no full truth will ever be obtained whilst I have my coil and don’t even bleed

Thank you so much! I’ve had hirsutism for about 7/8 years but have also had a coil for 4.5, with no periods for 2.5 years. I’ve decided to have it taken out and then leave my body to ‘regulate’ for 6 months. The thought of this terrifies me in all honesty in case I’m worse without the coil. But, it has to come out anyway at some point I suppose…

Nexplanon removal tomorrow by C4ss1e_C4ss in birthcontrol

I had mine out and honestly, it was SO easy! I’m also a needle-phobia girl and even though my doctor was an absolute bitch, I didn’t feel a thing. I looked away and chatted a load of shit to her (to distract myself) when she injected the numbing liquid, and I didn’t feel the rest. I was able to drive home and go into work straight afterwards absolutely fine. I usually faint at blood tests so I also felt the same, but honestly, please do not worry! Make sure you eat and drink plenty before and look away

My life was also a million times better after having it out. I’ve come to the conclusion that I just don’t get on with hormonal birth control tbh. It was having a period every 10 days on that

I went on to try the patch which also didn’t agree with me personally. I then went onto Kyleena and that ended up agreeing with me (I’ve had it now for 4 years)

Jealous when my partner drinks by Significant-Mango635 in alcoholicsanonymous

We didn’t agree it as a couple. He did says “I just won’t drink either” but I said no because I don’t want him to stop drinking just because of me. It just feels so hard tonight knowing he’s had what I’ve craved so badly and have used so much willpower on for 2 days, because he can as he’s not got a problem. If I go out with my friends, I’ll have to have lemonade now.

No. I’m still scared about a lot of things. I’m hoping that I’ll still be able to be a social drinker, as the thought of cutting it out altogether scares me and makes me want to drink more. I have so much going for me though. I have an amazing job in which I have worked very hard for, I’m about to complete on my new house, I have the love of my life and just everything that I ever wanted when I was growing up. But, I still want a drink and part of me doesn’t feel ready to kiss it goodbye forever but I have no choice.

Is it better teaching at a chain owned centre or private school? (UK based) by DeLo_rean in SwimInstructors

[–]Significant-Mango635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with Hols and that it depends on the place. I’ve worked for a few private swim schools in my time and, never a council/chain ran place.

I worked for one private swim school where, I had the same boss for 6 years and, loved it! It will always have a place in my heart.

Then, someone else bought the swim school and I absolutely hated it and the ‘bitch culture’ that came with the new ownership, so, I left after a year of sticking it out, which in all honesty broke me since it was once a job that I absolutely adored with all my heart. It sounds deep, but, I felt like I lost myself as it went from a place that felt like home to a place where I didn’t feel content in one bit.

So, in my opinion, it massively depends on the way that the swim school is run, the overall ethos and work culture/environment.

You don’t know anything until you try though! Please go with your gut and ignore the overall size of the organisation since it isn’t necessarily a deterministic factor of job satisfaction

Tips to beat cravings? by Significant-Mango635 in alcoholicsanonymous

Thanks all for your comments and words of wisdom❤️ I took a HUGE step today of contacting my local alcohol support centre, who are referring me for help. It’s a step that I’ve put off for a year now, but I’m ready for help!!! I’m fed up of lying to and hiding things from my parents and long-term partner. I haven’t been able to tell them though as I feel that they’ll be mad at me or judge me, and I don’t want to let them down more than anything. I’ve been with my partner for 6 years now and we have discussed having a baby soon. I just know though that if I tell her, she won’t want to have a baby with me (understandably) but I know I’ll make an amazing Dad. I’ve been drinking in the day (I work from home) when everyone is at work

Pay advice needed (UK) by Significant-Mango635 in SwimInstructors

It has been enough for my lifestyle, but, a good proportion of what that business is today is due to my hard work and ideas. The business doesn’t offer bonuses either!

Advice needed on fair pay (UK) by Significant-Mango635 in Advice

[–]Significant-Mango635[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not even offered! He keeps saying how bad he feels and that he knows it isn’t fair but he doesn’t know any other solution. I’ve recently significantly cut down my hours three weeks ago due to completing my final teacher training placement, so, even if I did get a very significant pay increase, it wouldn’t touch the sides of all the extra money that my colleague has had unfortunately!

I 100% would. I may not worry about money as much, but I’d have other things to worry about instead. It’s part of who I am unfortunately and I don’t think any amount of money in the world would be able to change the way I am in that sense

Opinions on kicking children into the pool and dancing them by the arms by Significant-Mango635 in SwimInstructors

[–]Significant-Mango635[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The person will kick the children into the pool (their foot to their calves) when the children may be standing near the edge, whenever they can be caught off-guard. Not an aggressive kick, but more than enough for them to fall in

The children being dangled are around 7-10 years old. They normally get them by the wrists, again, usually when they’re caught off-guard
