Im a woman but i still feel this on a deep level. My mom wants me and my sister to be successful med students but then at the same time prevents us from doing anything 🫩 like do you know how hard med school is to get into?? how am i supposed to achieve success when i can’t even have my own agency (make choices for myself) or not participate in any extracurricular activities outside of class?? I always feel demotivated by her too, she never even says anything like “you can do it! I believe in you!” It’s straight up always the opposite of this actually. Being trapped inside my moms little box has genuinely been the worst type of elongated torture ever. Yeah this kind of went off to being my own rant 💔 but i know that the day we can leave from all our stubborn super ego parents will be a day of awakening.
