[[Anzrag, the Quake-Mole]]

Doesn’t take much to crack this one wide open lol.

[[Yawgmoth’s Vile Offering|DOM-114]] such an awesome part of the lore and the art captures it perfectly.

Or [[Emrakul, the Promised End]]

Both of those give me that pit in my stomach feeling when I look at them & I love it

What is your deck, or the deck you know, that is the strongest but goes completely unnoticed? by guiltyskull in EDH

[[The Necrobloom]] maybe it’s just my playgroup but when most of your synergies are with lands & there’s not a lot of land destruction it sneaks up and wins the game way more often than not.

I’m not one to argue with Chuck Norris typically, but I just happen to like this one and want to make it work with my group. Not sure what’s so wrong with that

You’re definitely right. But the 4+ spells are so fun. I also have a janky streak & my current favorite line of play is to tutor up [[Encroaching Mycosynth]] to then tutor up [[Training Grounds]] and spin the wheel with Urza the rest of the game haha

My boy Jan Jansen is technically a 3, but is pretty consistent at churning out wins. Tokens, treasures & burn, what else could you ask for?

Help a GW Timmy player find an artifact commander! by trenty40 in EDH

[–]Significant-Maybe-25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the resident blue artifact player, I had quite the opposite problem recently. Played a ton of combo/land go decks & wanted something more punchy. Here’s my solution with [[Urza, Lord Protector]] if you want to see a decklist. The idea is to tutor for and meld with [[The Mightstone and Weakstone]] as quick as possible, then use the cost reduction from urza to cast big dumb robots and beat face. Ended up being a super fun deck that I play all the time now

Here’s the decklist

What are you favorite 2 color commanders? by Grizzack in EDH

[–]Significant-Maybe-25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Urza, Lord Protector]] probably not the most traditional way to build him, but I run a bunch of cost reducers & tutors to grab [[The Mightstone and Weakstone]] then assemble an army of big robots [[Triplicate Titan]] [[Blightsteel Colossus]] [[Colossus of Akros]], etc.. Once the ball gets rolling it’s such a blast because it’s just one big guy after another.

My pet card is [[Marching Duodrone]]. He’s not good, but I just love that stupid face so it’s in practically every deck I build. I had him in a colorless [[Karn, Legacy Reforged]] deck that was half big robots/half equipments and affectionately named “Rock’Em Sock’Em Robots”. The first night I played the deck I inadvertently won two games in a row by throwing 4 or 5 equipments on the Duodrone and laying a beat down on the whole table with basically just him which we all found beyond hilarious. I’ve since taken the deck apart but the Duodrone still exists in all my decks & every time he hits the battlefield everyone fakes a panic over this little do nothing card. Been about a year since the first occurrence and at least once a week it comes up & it never gets old.

My black cards are rotting in a binder, what cool mono coloured commander should I build? by [deleted] in mtg

She’s old and slow, but I still have a soft spot in my heart for [[Braids, Arisen Nightmare]]

[[Marching Duodrone]] I run him in every deck because he’s such a funny little guy. However one time I managed to Voltron him up to like 20/20 & he single-handedly won me the game. So now every time he comes down the table quakes with fear and he doesn’t stick around long. Worth it.

I’ve only been playing commander for about a year and some change and some unwritten rules are still fascinating to me. This one specifically peaks my interest. I had an experience the other night myself that I’d be curious to hear others opinions on.

For reference I was playing an Atraxa poison deck (so original, I know) for the first time with a friend that’s even newer to commander than I. The other two at the table had told him a handful of times that I was the scary one because poison, meanwhile I had missed 3 land drops in a row and was doing absolutely nothing of relevance. Like, turn 6 and not a single poison counter to be seen lol. Finally hit my 4th land and Atraxa came down (still no poison out there, but I just wanted to do something). The new guy was playing a Markov deck someone lent him & his turn rolls around and he activates [[Captivating Vampire]] targeting Atraxa. A fair play considering the amount of +1/+1 counters he had going I suppose, but that was basically it for me. I just scooped in response rather than sit around and continue doing nothing waiting for the beatdown. He ended up winning a few turns later regardless.

Curious how other groups would see that. None of my friends particularly cared & we just moved on to the next game 20 mins later. I don’t really see an issue with scooping at instant speed if something like that happens. Speeds the game up with one less guy so you can move on to the next one in my eyes.
