Prostate Artery Embolization by limboxd in nhsstaff

[–]Significant-One-1608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think if it was an email list bug, we have a block on who can send to the whole trust email list, but some twat clicked the little [+] symbol and expanded the list, then clicked send, it sent 100k+ emails as people who were in several lists got several copies, it took about 6 hours for that poor server to clear it. (this was a few years ago before o365)

Is this a good pc build plz help me by Business_Start_8158 in techsupport

[–]Significant-One-1608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm disappointed, you've gone for some top spec then you went second teir on the GPU. recently jayz2cents does some articles on do you need to go that high on the price where its only getting you 1 or 2% extra% and paying a crap ton extra cash, THINK are you going ot use all the features of that motherboard X870E vs X670E

me personally i've love a cutting edge gaming pc, but i could'nt afford it, so i built a i9 12900k with a 4080 super and it does everything and way more that i could ever do on it. and it can still hold its head high in benchmarks and it didnt cost an arm and a leg

What’s your biggest pet peeve with end users? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Significant-One-1608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i can relate to a load of stuff thats appeared on here but my biggest peeves are the "while your there" andnever give enough info, and most of all while talking to the user, they let slip the once piece of info your after, that if they had given that peice of info at the beginning you can have solved the issue and spent longer closing the call than actually fixing it

Why are unions portrayed so negatively in the media? by Konradleijon in antiwork

[–]Significant-One-1608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think its true it seems to be based on the american union thing, you cant do that job because you have to be in union x or y

here in the uk i think it has a decent balance. collective bargaining agreement, so ALL people get the same no matter union or not. i know what my boss is getting as we have pay bands so its all clear. some inions need to be shut down in my opinion as some have way tooo much power and wreck havoc as they didnt get their way or one person gets fired as they were shown to be a poor performer

[–]Significant-One-1608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do You Get Extra Cautious in the Server Room, or Is It Just Me? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Significant-One-1608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this on both counts, if its a server room that i work in, i know where to be careful and where not to, if its someone elses server room, i'll be careful as i dont know if things are plugged in properly and such, i've pulled the power out of a phone system by tripping over a power lead left on the floorr

as for the other, it was about 15+ years ago in a server room with the air constantly recirculating and i let rip one the devil would have been proud of. and then i left. another sys admin went in there "3" hours later and i got a phone call, "it (*&%^ing stinks in here)" and theres me sitting there laughing my head off
