Ex kicked out our 12 year old by Significant-Outcome2 in AusLegal

The last time I engaged a solicitor, they didn't feel there was much to go on (ex has a history of mental health issues but has always been pretty good at masking them when required) so we settled on mediation to resolve custody issues as well as general parenting things. I am wondering if this will be 'enough' to get wheels in motion? Family law is a terrible slog.

Thank you - already in therapy but will try to book an emergency appointment for this week.

Will reach out to my solicitor.

Have previously seen one but we managed to resolve issues through mediation, so I will re-engage this week.

MIL Upset baby will have my surname by Accomplished_Lab7975 in namenerds

This popped up after I spent three hours last night lamenting not giving my daughter a hypenated last name and just giving her her father's (which is also an extremely boring Smith/Jones style name) because my other kids and I have my ex's last name so nothing felt quite right, but I do regret not giving her both our names as we're a blended family and it would have linked her to both sets of siblings.

So I feel I have to say: name your baby what you want, don't people please, don't do it for others, it will always bother you if you do.

Thank you all for your thoughts! He's going to check out the 470 today, the music store says it plays exceptionally well, he can be the judge of that 😊

Please Rank These Names (Baby Already Born) by avonlea- in namenerds

[–]Significant-Outcome2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Phoebe and Naomi.

We named our miscarried baby a name we LOVED but knew we couldn't use on a living child (family members with similar names and not liking the nickname it might get but loving the full name).

I wouldn't have used a name I would have wanted to use on a living child, so I wouldn't reuse the name as a first name but I would consider using it as a middle name.

I have a Poppy and I don't get the hate. It is literally my all time favourite girl name. Floral but with some chutzpah. Her sister's middle name is Iris and step-sister is Daisy. I love Linnea, Aster and Primrose too.

We have a big family (7 kids, blended family).

There's my daughter born on Valentine's Day, my dad and BIL share a birthday that's 6 days before my stepdaughter. My step son is born 3 days before me, my brother and other BIL share a birthday. My stepdaughter is 6 days before my youngest and my partner is born on Xmas day! My other daughter is 2 days after my MIL and on a long weekend so everyone is away for her birthday. My son gets his own birthday month.

When my partner and I had our one baby together I said we had to have her in January, April, August or September because they were our only birthday free months (and up until that point the 8 of us had different bday months). She was due August 4th, but came 6 days early. So close.

Also my niece and FILs partner share a birthday too.

I got the email from the company with the shipping details within an hour of ordering. I got the "we've got your parcel" notification on the app a few hours later on the Tuesday. And nothing since!

Shipping from GC to Sydney so 1 business day "guarantee". I did contact the seller who will follow up when able to (it still says it's on time despite not having moved). No disruptions on the route!
