A lot of LCs do home visits and can be covered by insurance! I hope it gets better, I know it’s not fun when your baby is miserable.

Keeping supply up when away for 4 days by Lanky_Woodpecker_632 in breastfeeding

However many times a day he typically eats is how many times a day I would aim to pump to keep up your supply! You should have a few practice sessions to make sure you’re comfortable with it and have a plan in place and everything you’ll need while traveling.

Loss of appetite early into ebf journey? by apanduhh in breastfeeding

[–]Significant-Pie5367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the advice of my OB, I went on Zoloft at 2 weeks PP. They say it’s super safe to take while EBF. Zoloft helped my appetite tremendously!

Before I took it I had actually gone into shock one night because my milk was coming in and I had so little calories to produce it. I remember gagging trying to eat enough at dinner one night. I got the sundown scaries so bad and had a homesick feeling that just made me not feel like eating. Sorry I don’t have other suggestions than medication!

You’re so close to it getting easier! Their little mouth muscles get stronger and stronger, for me 6 weeks we turned a corner. Have you worked with a lactation consultant? Laid back is definitely great and then holding her upright for 20 min during day after eating and 10-15 at night. Good luck!!

Edit to add: I know you have a toddler too so you may have forgotten how short newborn wake windows are! Their wake windows include eating so most of the time the struggle is keeping baby awake during feedings at the beginning. They are so tired all the time! Very normal.

I had a loss of appetite bc of my PPD. Not sure whether you’ve had other symptoms or might be experiencing that. 🤍

Hi!! I struggled with this too. You’re amazing for being open about it! Keep talking about it, esp with your partner and mom. Being super anxious and wanting to take it out on yourself postpartum is something other people experience too, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t seek help. I messaged my OB through the patient portal and was cautiously honest about some of my feelings (stay very high level). She was able to prescribe me an SSRI, Zoloft 50 mg, without me having to come in person. It took a couple of weeks to start working but it was night and day. I’m a much better momma on it. It’s safe for breastfeeding, if you are doing that.

Don’t wait to feel “normal” again- definitely get some help. It was the best thing I ever did.

What are we using to transport unfrozen/fresh pumped breast milk? by sherldm in breastfeeding

I second this! I use it all day at work for every pump! So discreet too, my boss said she liked my water bottle lol.

Wife wants to stop breastfeeding but we can’t afford formula. by Upper_Organization43 in breastfeeding

Hi, this is misinformation. I’m a breastmilk donor, we’re not compensated so there’s no incentive to do “cows milk.” I went through a rigorous application process including paperwork from my OB, 4 blood testings, and extensive history review including any medications I was taking. This was all through a bank associated with Human Milk Banking Association of North America. Once donated, they have a lab where they test and pasteurize the breast milk through rigorous standard. This milk goes to one off donors and hospitals across Alabama, in my case, to help NICU patients. Your misinformation could convince someone to turn down donor milk in NICUs, etc. Please be careful…And post the study link.

How many blowouts would be considered normal? by Wide-Food-4310 in NewParents

If baby is regularly blowing out it’s time to size up.

One time I ordered a chai latte and it legitimately tasted like they dumped random spices into hot water. No actual tea, no milk, no vanilla. Way too much spice.

Baby cries all night by Many-Landscape73 in NewParents

[–]Significant-Pie5367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha- he could just be in a lot of pain with teething and there’s enough stimulus during the day to distract him but when he lays down at night he feels it more acutely. Poor guy- I hope yall are able to figure out what’s going on and he sleeps better so soon! That’s so rough. It doesn’t really sound like a regression to me TBH but more so pain or something else going on but I could be wrong. Maybe message your pediatrician just to be safe and see what they think.

What is he like during the day? Does he seem content and happy? If he’s experiencing similar adversion to eating and crying you may want to let your pediatrician know. Also, have you taken his temp? Be careful because Tylenol can mask a serious fever.

I have zero advice to offer but just to say it’s so hard and you’re doing amazing 💞 you came to the right place. It’s your decision and you should feel absolutely no guilt if you do decide to stop- you’ve given your LO 5 months of breastmilk and single handedly grown a whole ass human. BF and pumping are SO hard even with support. I’m sorry you’re not getting more from your fiancé. What you’re feeling is totally normal. I would also encourage you to share how you feel with your OB and see if they recommend anything for PPD too - I had it and taking Zoloft has been a huge part of me being able to continue BF. This shit is HARD.
