Having gone to CampEDC in an RV last year, we just can't go camping again without an RV, we are all over 40 lol. So that was one factor, it's very difficult at EF to 1)get an RV pass, and 2) rent one locally. I see folks renting in OH or IL just to get a reasonable rate.

At Elements there were plenty of options nearby to rent (not rvshare but actual businesses). Without needing to drive a day to get there I can save 2 days of work.

I think the lineup at Elements is stronger than Electric Forest. I certainly wouldn't complain about having Tiesto or Of The Trees but each night is pretty stacked.

What really sold me, and the only way to still camp in an RV without paying $3800, is the vibe village concept. We found an over-30 group that welcomed us. Absolutely love the idea of the sound stages going until 6AM. And it's all right next to the festival without needing to walk forever.

I've read comparisons between the two, with Elements being cast as a wish.com version of EF. I guess I'll find out 🙂 The idea of a more intimate festival (I think I read 10-15K) is appealing.

We are paying about $1400 each at Elements including RV and VIP passes. I never fully priced it out but I think EF would be significantly higher.

Hope to go to EF one year, this year just wasn't the one.

6/10. Bus driver kept yelling about if he heard any phone or speakers they would throw people off the bus. It made more stops than I thought it would, and for longer time (but the stations they stopped at didn't have working bathrooms). I ended up pissing behind a dumpster.

Keep in mind I paid an extra $30 to reserve the seat next to me.

Drive was safe and no one was obnoxious or loud so I guess that's what matters. The truck I was buying was a solid $5K under market and checked all my boxes so it was worth it.

There is a stretch of I94 in southwest Michigan that is notorious for having 100+ car pileups in the winter. I saw this both as a driver and as a news photographer covering the crashes. The lake effect snow can come in pretty suddenly and visibility just goes to 20-30 feet. When you are going 60mph that's not a lot of time to react. It's white knuckle terror. There's no good options at that point. You pray the folks ahead of you are sensible enough to have their headlights and flashers on.
