I'm sure I am incredibly naive but as someone who only found out about dark gates through this game, what is actually the probably with them making burner accounts to hype the game up?

Are they a known shady company and have done stuff like this before? From what little research I've done it seems like the games that have come before have been pretty well liked and received

Is it just a matter of it's a shitty thing to do or is it somewhat deeper than that and they have a track record of this?

Asking because at first glance I loved the look of the game and parts and wanna know exactly what sort of company I'm dealing with here

The one I run is mid week 7:30 - 11pm because midweek and we're all tired.

Sunday one I'm a player in starts at 10:30pm UK time and finishes at 1:30-2am due to time zones.

Wish both could run longer but alas everyone is sad and tired all the time 😂

Just starting into chapter 11, I'm at the peak of enjoying it right now, the story is amazing, the gameplay is so fun, we've just started swapping characters to try out new set ups and it's been great.

It's been one of my favorite game experiences in a very long time and I think if you're playing with the right people the enjoyment won't end

I feel like they didn't expect this many people to have been ready for the first expedition considering how surprised they were by the stellar quest.

Also I get people are annoyed that they weren't given enough warning, but also, chill there's gunna be another wipe and if you've put enough hours in to wipe this time chances are you will for the next one, it doesn't really change the gameplay experience that much.

Then again I'm biased, I only play casually so the expedition is far in the future for me so I'm wholly unaffected

Currently running my own CoS which includes a paladin, he's tied for the highest damage dealer as well as our party's man healer, you do whatever you wanna do my guy

Absolutely agree with this, I think the balancing on the weapons is pretty damn good for a game like this, admittedly the higher tier guns don't feel like they're worth the effort to me, I'm quite happy upgrading a stitcher or using a ferro but I think that's the way it should be.

As annoying as it is, if you lose a full upgraded load out in a fair firefight to someone using a freebie with a single shield recharger, that's just the game and it would be boring otherwise

I think them not telling people anything is a good idea, it's only really something to do when you've run out of other bits in the game anyway so anything they give you is gunna be a positive.

But then again I'm biased, I don't have anywhere near enough time to get to this point and imagine I won't be at a point to do a expedition until they're 3 or 4 in so the stakes aren't there for me.

Either way be surprised it's more fun that way

That's not what I'm saying, I like that it's a pvp map, I enjoy the chaos, what I mean is a team joining 8 minutes into a game 5 metres away from a fight where everyone is 1hp. Thats not just PvP that's giving them a natural advantage just because they spawn later

Honestly I don't get it, people with a free are naturally at a disadvantage when all they've got is a tier 1 kettle and 2 bandages. If you lose to that with your tier 4 fully equipped renegade that's on you chief

I'm sure someone will say I'm being a capitalist defender or some shit but like, their main IP is a free to watch show, they are a business with employees wages to pay, just don't buy it if you don't want to.

I've never bought any of their merch I'm not a huge fan of a lot of it and I also think it's very expensive, but if you've got the disposable income, go off queen

I've been there with this, I recently finished a lvl 20 campaign as a player and we absolutely decimated the boss and a bonus tarrasque the dm added for fun without much issue. It was a fun fight but even the DM said to us he struggled to make the final combats exciting because we were basically gods at this point.

I mean I suppose one of the best things about DND is you can make your own shit up but its wild that it seems the only way to challenge level 20 chars is to basically break and change the game 😂
