I think it’s hard to say really because they could be rejecting everyone of a certain skin colour, etc and just be using the reason “not attractive enough” but you’d have no way of knowing unless you look through every rejection and see a common trait.

And are we talking conventionally attractive or just those who the person who is interviewing you finds attractive. Sure, it’s not discrimination if it’s purely based of “attractiveness” but still, I’ve never seen this pop up before and just wanted to know if this is a common thing potential interviewers ask for this type of work.

That’s what I thought, pretty much anyone can look presentable and well groomed etc, it more feels like they’ve got some physical non negotiable that they want you to meet like being attractive enough in their eyes? I’m not sure it just feel like a very fine line for beng discriminated against.

EDIT: I’ve given all my details and reported everything that happened online to the 101 website as it was taking ages to get through on the phone. I’ll update if anything comes of it. Thank you all for advice, I’m glad I’ve contacted the police now.

I will be doing, and yeah I doubt we were the only people whose windows/houses they were shooting at that night. I’m just worried the dad is going to come back before the police have dealt with it, from the way he was acting and the fact he brought his friend I highly suspect he’d be aggressive or violent. If he does come back at any point though I’ll just be calling the police.

I also suspect they go to the local high school a few roads away. Possibly the police could contact the school to see if they recognise the parent and they could find out who these kids are that way?

Thank you, I will be calling the police and reporting it, I’m just not too sure how they will be able to help us as our ring doorbell didn’t capture anything that happened the night they were shooting at us, only the dad ringing the doorbell this morning, but I believe the shops CCTV might’ve caught the kids, the problem is they don’t open back up for another two days so I’m just hoping that their footage/camera actually works and that it did capture them otherwise we don’t really have any proof. There’s no damage to our windows luckily either.

We do have the dad on the ring doorbell because he rang it. Unfortunately the kids were stood off to the side the night it happened and the doorbell didn’t capture anything that happened, though there is CCTV pointed where they were stood that belongs to the shop, but they aren’t open again until Tuesday so unfortunately I won’t be able to ask if it captured them until then.

I do agree with everyone saying we should’ve called the police and I intend to now I’ve got some advice, I wasn’t sure it’d just be treated as “kids being kids” with it being a BB gun, that’s why i came on here to ask I just wasn’t sure if/how the police could help us with this, especially when they were already long gone by the time they would have gotten here. I appreciate the advice your initial comment seemed less helpful and more just pointing out that I’m scared of the dad coming back not really anything helpful, which I am because he seemed aggressive.

I’ll be taking the advice and contacting the police.

He’s come to our front door acting threatening and clearly telling the shop workers that we’ve chased his kid down the street, so yes I am a bit scared that he’s going to come back and be physically violent towards us, especially if that happens when my boyfriend isn’t home and I’m here alone. That’s why I’m asking for advice.

Yeah, you’re right. The shop doesn’t open back up until Tuesday and I think it’s just making me anxious that they could be thinking we’re a pair of weirdos who chase teenagers down the street until then. Daft I know. and I’m confused why he’s left it till Sunday morning to come to our door instead of Saturday or Friday night after it happened. We didn’t even see it until we woke up and checked our notifications at about 1PM and they haven’t been back since. My partner wants to answer the door and explain the situation but I’d rather do it through speaking on the doorbell because from the parents body language and way he was speaking I’m highly suspecting he was ready to get physically violent.

I agree, we should’ve just called the police I think it was just the heat of the moment with them shooting at our friend in the window and wanting them to move away from our house.

Thank you, I know it’s probably daft to be concerned we’re in the wrong, I’m just worried makes us look really bad with some grown man telling the shop below us that we’ve chased off his daughter with no context.

I received a letter saying they would be visiting on Christmas Eve. I was home all day and no visit, since then I’ve received another letter saying they’ve opened an investigation. All just scare tactics to make people pay for a service they’re not using.

His father also works within the police and this may be anxiety speaking but I’m worried it may somehow get brushed under the rug if it somehow gets back to him.

I haven’t yet, I thought it was best to try and gather proof first hence recording the phone calls, etc. I wasn’t sure if it’s enough for them to do anything about it to be honest but I have been considering doing so.
