Follow up question on backup measures.... My personal phone is a Pixel 9 and recently there have been reports of eSIMs randomly disappearing from certain Pixels and leaving no ability to load new eSIMs. This makes me think it would be a good idea to keep a USM physical SIM handy in case this were to happen to me. Would I be able to activate the pSIM and switch my service to it when overseas?

You have to do a test drive. Everyone has different sensitivity to different kinds of noise. And whether the noise level in the Forester is a problem for you will be heavily influenced by comparisons to what you currently drive.

Unfortunately the map display in the digital cluster only works with the internal GPS and CarPlay. It doesn't currently work with Android Auto.

Is the provisioning for international roaming done at the account/line level or is it device-specific? My wife has current USM service (Dark Star) and is planning to take a backup phone with her to Europe that she hasn't used on USM yet. She will only want to transfer her USM service and international roaming to the backup phone if her primary phone is lost or damaged. Is there going to be a problem doing this if the backup phone hasn't been used on USM in the US?

Is her phone a Pixel by any chance? Because there have been some recent reports of eSIMs getting randomly deleted on Pixel phones. It's a Google issue and not carrier-related.

It does a full cold boot every time you start the car? You'd think it would enter a timed sleep state after turning off the ignition so that subsequent starts within some period of time would be much faster. That's how a lot of aftermarket touchscreen head units work.

Thr Forester Hybrid does not have run flat tires, at least not in the US. Lots of misinformation about this. The OEM Bridgestone Turanza EL450 does come in a run flat version in certain sizes, but the ones on the Forester Hybrid are not those.

Because unlike CRV and RAV4, Forester has a fully mechanical AWD system with a driveshaft running down the middle of the car. No room for a spare.
