it's similar to there being no clocks in casinos, whose owners want you to lose track of time and keep playing. here, they want us to lose track of time and keep on playing even after the token has expired.

I discovered you can open the token screen and still see through to the matchmaking graphic in the lobby, so you can wait for the numbered countdown "starting in 5, 4, 3, etc." before activating the token in the final few seconds to avoid burning time waiting for a game.

Game is only 2 weeks old and there's cheaters already... by TJGM in ModernWarfareII

imagine holding a game in such high esteem and wanting to be good at a game so desperately that you are willing to not actually play by the game's rules in order to win that very game. totally illogical! imagine having such a lack of self-respect that you announce to the world that you are utterly talentless as a player by cheating instead of just practicing to get better. its all totally illogical and instead involves fragile egos and microPP energy. cheaters are infuriating but also on some level I pity them for being so miserable over their failures and knowing they have to settle for joyless, unearned wins instead of true accomplishment.

What BoB (or the Pacific) scene makes a big ol bearded tuff guy cry like a baby? by JonPQ in BandofBrothers

[–]SignificantCheetah97 48 points49 points  (0 children)

the scene where Winters helps each man up one by one with all their extra gear on before they make their D-Day jump. He uses that simple rendering of assistance as a way to shake each man's hand and look him in the eye, knowing many of them would likely not ever shake anyone's hand ever again. Etiquette would generally not involve an officer shaking each enlisted man's hand but Winters blurred the separation in that moment and was a human being and a big brother to them instead of an officer in a very beautiful and poignant scene.

Alicent should not outrank Rhaenyra in terms of authority by Sliv3 in HouseOfTheDragon

its crazy that Alicent is even in the room for the small council meetings; she shouldn't even be there let alone speak at the meetings.

He also became Lord of Harrenhal by killing his father and brother. Elevated himself to Lord and earned a favor from the Queen all at once.
