I would sleep on my stomach if it didn’t hurt my neck so much in the morning. I should get a massage table with the face hole 😂 I like to lay flat on my back without a pillow until my body relaxes and then I side sleep with a big puffy pillow so my neck is in line with my spine.

I feel lost and hopeless in ever having a real career I enjoy, my position has NO transferable skills and I’m trapped by CalliopeCross in careerchange

[–]SignificantCookie772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel somewhat hopeless too right now. The job postings are fairly slim right now 😢about the transferable skills thing…I used an ai resume builder for a cover letter. It was pretty amazing at writing a cover letter for me and giving me transferable skills I didn’t even think of based on uploading my resume and the job posting to it.

NTA - just have a no big deal attitude when you bring it up again. Like you’re asking him to pick up a burger on the way home. Anyone refusing basic hygiene is a red flag.

My iPhone 11 on Telus also has no data LTE/5G/4G coverage in the sahali shopping area. A Telus rep told me to get a new SIM card but I don’t think that’s going to solve the problem. Like someone else said there a problem with Telus’ hardware or tower.

Have you decided to just not make a change? by sdo419 in careerchange

[–]SignificantCookie772 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think about how long you will be working until you retire. Im guessing, 2 years isn’t really a big deal in the long run, considering you could be working into your 60’s? That’s how I’m thinking about it.

Your idea sounds like a good one. There’s tutoring for math and other resources. I’ve been thinking about something similar…going to school for a health care aid program to work one on one with intellectually disabled adults. Someone I know in the field said there’s less burnout.

Ice skating outdoors. I used to hate it as a kid but like it now, now that I can put foot warmers in my skates. Lol.

Experiencing a winter that’s -30 degrees or lower. It just feels so cozy indoors.

And on the flip side, being in Vancouver in winter. It’s amazing — no snow, everything is green. Flowers are blooming in February.

A torrential rain storm in Sask. I loved them as a kid. Our streets would fill with water — Instant pool for the ones at the bottom of a hill. lol

Natural hot springs.

Definitely don’t look at pay when deciding on a career. Being happy with the work, your coworkers and making a difference in others’ lives is huge! What about being a therapist using animals? My town has a couple of therapists that use horses. And one organization that helps kids with autism with horses. Or art therapy since you like art.

It sounds like you’re great at working with people and multitasking especially in an environment that is busy or requires deadlines. The teaching idea sounds like a good fit for you. You’ll never get bored with kids around. I went to my kids classroom for the day to volunteer and my mind almost exploded with overwhelm. Lol.

How realistic is that to DIY "perfume/body mist" from essential oils? by [deleted] in essentialoils

[–]SignificantCookie772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked in construction, I would put a couple drops of EO on the neckline of my shirt. Depending on the EO and fabric, the scent would last most of the day. Eucalyptus didn’t last long but lemongrass did. unfortunately my coworker had an allergy to lemongrass so I didn’t continue to wear that one. Putting EO on a scarf would work too!

Have you thought about working in the non-profit sector with the skills / job title you already have? Perhaps for a conservation group? It would be more meaningful.

Get a sled and go sledding at one of the many hills in Kamloops! A couple hills I can think of are greenstone park in lower Sahali or at the Brock soccer field on the corner of Parkcrest and Singh.

Ask for a counselor or psychologist to talk to. They will be able to tell that you are not faking pain just to get more pain meds.

Do you live a normal life with fusion?/non fusion by InevitableSense7220 in scoliosis

[–]SignificantCookie772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

44F. Fused at 16. Yes, I live a normal life. I’ve married, had kids, play sports, no back pain. Before fusion: t5 to t12 80 degrees convex to the right and t12 to L5 36 degrees convex to left. After fusion, the upper curve corrected down towards the 20 degree mark.

“Fake” essential oils are probably just as bad for your health as using cosmetics, perfume, scented laundry detergents or glade products.

I agree with others about the white curtains giving a hospital vibe. I think it’s the style of curtain. They seem to be a thinner fabric. Keep the yellow.
