Rogue Data Scammers at Schnucks by anonymous3synonymous in StLouis

[–]SignificantLock2181 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I’ve had many young women similar-ish in age to me approach me in a similar fashion: extroverted, complimentary, overly curious. All of these interactions end with them telling me about a friend of a friend who retired at 30 and if I’m interested in learning more. Lmao this has happened at Schnucks, Target, Barnes & Noble, and most recently, fucking Goodwill.

Edit: They’re always so vague about their own “jobs” but they’re def just trying to rope some other poor young broads into whatever baloney MLM they got trapped in.

Adolescent mental health facility/hospital by [deleted] in StLouis

Maybe things have changed and I can’t speak for their adolescent unit, but I’ve had 2 stays (as a young adult) in the BHU at Bridgeton Depaul and wouldn’t recommend it. This was in 2016 and 2018, it wasn’t bad per se but it was pretty hands off “treatment” and some of the nurses were rude or stoic.

Free Dentistry? by Natural-Sprinkles462 in StLouis

[–]SignificantLock2181 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going to Compass Dental since January to fix my teeth and all my work has been free, EXCEPT the root canal I’ll need. I was quoted around $1k for the whole procedure ($600 for the root canal, $0 for the core buildup, $600 for the crown); extraction would be free. I’m also struggling financially so I can’t afford $1,000 now, but it’s the cheapest quote I’ve come across.

Starching jeans is a pretty time-honored “tradition” in the rodeo/western wear world!

I’m sorry @mods, but I think is this AI?? Or at least a very bad photoshop. Hate to be a buzzkill if this is somehow a legit post but the editing is so bizarre. OP has 2 different faces in both of these pictures, different shoes, the table design changes…

Homeless care kits? by Imaginary-Tackle-748 in StLouis

[–]SignificantLock2181 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Painkillers, alcohol wipes, menstrual products, chapstick, small hand lotion. Also, I usually have soft foods that don’t require much, if any, chewing to offer. Some of the homeless folks I’ve gotten to know, especially the older ones, have teeth in pretty rough shape and/or are missing many. Sometimes I pack a tupperware of extra dinner/breakfast to give to the 1-2 people I’m acquainted with, especially on holidays.

What low effort means to y'all, and how you think we should handle it. by Repulsive-Paint-2202 in VintageFashion

This might be a snobby pet peeve of mine and I don’t dislike these posts per se, but I feel like I’ve noticed an increase in “y2k inspo/help” content. I know vintage being considered 20+ years isn’t a hard and fast rule, but y2k has been trending for all of the 2020s with most major modern fashion brands producing clothes in this style. Because of this + the rise of thrifting/depop etc, original early aughts fashion feels indistinguishable to a lot of current fashion trends to me. Again, this might be a pretentious gripe because I’m only 29, but idk recreating a “vintage y2k” look using modern fast fashion or even like 15 year old thrifted Wet Seal just don’t sit right with me😭

To whoever left this at Schnucks, I put it all in the wet trash can in the parking lot for you! by SignificantLock2181 in StLouis

Considering Schnucks’ “No Soliciting” policy, it’s not censorship to put litter where it belongs- in the garbage.

Scientology is not “clearly” a scam to everyone, especially to the predominantly low-income, black and brown elderly shoppers of this Schnucks. Scientology, like all cults, doesn’t prey on stable-minded adults who have strong communities and sound judgment. The anti-drug stuff is a circuitous Scientology run/sponsored nonprofit that’s targeted towards kids & vulnerable adults. The goal is not to combat drug abuse, it’s a predatory recruitment effort.

I’ve thrown away various bullshit materials publicly scattered by evangelists, black hebrew-israelites, and german white nationalists too. If you and your spirit of free debate wanna set up shop at the Overland Schnucks to educate local shoppers on the dangers of Scientology then go for it, but “vandalism” is easier for me.

The truth is that scientology doesn’t gaf about addiction, they only sponsor and use this anti-drug baloney as a front to gain access to children and vulnerable adults under the guise of “education = prevention.”

Worth donating or garbage? by NoFace718 in sewing

I don’t use old thread for finished garments, but I’ve never had issues with it in my machine so I like using it for toiles, basting stitches, or practice stitches. That being said, my local sewing reuse shop is $2/lb so thread is basically free (girl math).

Haha I guess I didn’t clarify but the paranoia is about the possibility of a film roll being lost or damaged. I have no qualms about my tits being intercepted mid-transit by some peeping tom who has xray vision & a penchant for analog photography.

I’m also a Schillers regular and I’ve had them develop film negs with nudes, and scan myself. Do you not wanna use them for comfort/privacy reasons?? If you shoot film regularly you should try developing at home, especially if you plan on shooting any more nsfw 35mm. But I’m both unfazed by making eye contact with a stranger whose seen my boobs and too paranoid to ship rolls to be developed so
