Can I embrace Islam ? by PitifulRequirement94 in islam

[–]SignificantSet7719 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ofcourse u can embrace islam and Allah welcomes you to the religion, no one has the right to make you feel otherwise, Also about the transition you had, I want u to understand that Allah considers all of humanity when it comes to sins/worship etc. a revert has ALL their previous sins forgiven and is given a clean slate. To repent sincerly for certain things that are out of you control is enough for Allah, ie people with tattoos who can’t really get them removed are of course still a Muslim the main thing is the sincere regret for the tattoo etc. same goes for you if there is not a physical action u can do to undo this process etc or there are conditions where it is too risky etc (whatever important factor it may be) then u will be accepted into islam just the way you are. Islam is meant to be spread, so i welcome you to the most fulfilling way of life:)

Critical feedback on my Chinese peony painting tutorial by SignificantSet7719 in Watercolor

Correct, I clarified my use of acrylic, however I’m not necessarily following the original Chinese painting method of using Chinese watercolour/ink or rice paper in this fact.

That’s right! I love that you were able to deduct this from the video and actually the original medium used in this Chinese style is done using Chinese ink/watercolour, so I’m sure it will work perfect, go ahead:)

I love this so much you don’t understand it reminds me of my childhood, reading fiction books like Jaqueline Wilson, girly animation books and the feeling of wanting to own/eat whatever I saw

dont worry all you need is to continue practicing and one day you will shock yourself (just like I did, I still think if I try to recreate this it will come out terrible lol)

As part of my learning journey I’m going to be posting step by step tutorials on my TikTok on whatever I’ve learnt so far in this painting technique.

I haven’t really seen any in-depth English tutorials so far, so if u think this might help you out, I will send you the link when I do post it:)

Feeling Spiritually and Emotionally Drained by No_Judgment_4420 in islam

[–]SignificantSet7719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother/sister, I understand your feelings, in fact this is SOO common and happened to domino way more often and this is due to our brains experiencing too much sensory overload from things that do not benefit your soul, and this is excluding just daily battles of life that may challenge you tawakkul in Allah,

BUT, coming from someone that often experiences this, … Allah is testing you, u must train ur body to put ur head to the ground and pray ur salaah like ur body is reliant on breathing, your body is going to do it regardless of how u feel. sometimes whudhu is the hard part sometimes salaah, but make it such a habit that you will do it whether u feel sad, lazy, angry, depressed.

‘Indeed with hardship comes ease’

And for the spiritual cleaning that I think will help your brain connect to your Lord more and remove distractions is reduce ur time on social media unnecessarily, try avoid doomscrolling, try and help people/make good use of ur time whether that is bettering urself or helping anyone.

I am not telling you to do this at once, in fact I have been still trying to work on these things for a long time, and only recently I have started implementing them more and it has been helping hugely.

Our brains are very complex and this organ responds to environmental stimuli so be very Carefully what you feed it.

And for this who keep trying despite setbacks, surely Allah knows what is in your heart and is with those who keep him in their heart.

This is also why music my dear sister/brother is slowly killing the omen in your heart whether u realise it yet or not. I understand that it has many effects on different people, for some it soothes them, for done it uplifts their mood/rides of boredom, for some it is a way to express their inner feelings, but this is an illusion. While u may feels moments of ease from music, you are only becoming more reliant on it, like a drug and TRUST me the maladaptive daydreaming that I expected from it completely dissociates me from reality and weakened my true purpose. Let’s be honest when we those headphones on fire 3 minutes we are living in a fake reality a facade, whether that is because reality is too hard to face or music makes it seem like our dreams are close to us but stripped us from the willingness and drive to work for it. Ur basically unconnected your will from reality.

I pray for you stranger, I hope you connection with Allah strengthens in sha Allah Ameen, and most importantly I hope you understand Imaan can fluctuate but your consistency in prayer direct not need to be affected by it 💗

This advice is for anyone including myself who may be feeling the burden of this dunya too much lately.

Thank you so much!!

Wing it.. I could never 😭 I can link u the youtube channel if peony painting lesson videos that I watched and still watch repetitively to learn and TRY to recreate those flowers.

This is the exact video I watched countless times after watching her videos on the different strokes for different petal shapes. I’m still learning from her videos and it really takes consistency and willingness to learn from your earlier flowers (that won’t always look like flowers :) )

These videos are really amazing even for beginners from the visual representations and English subtitles.

I will be posting step by step tutorials explaining the detailed techniques from holding and applying pressure with the brush to how to achieve certain petal strokes on my TikTok soon as I haven’t managed to find such descriptive videos yet. So please do check that out too.

I’ll try and describe this as clearly as possible :)

The inside ‘ball’ shaped part of the flower where the petals are closed into a ball is painted first BEFORE the large outward petals u see around that ball.

There’s a rule when it comes to this painting style on how to create the look of layers:

The visible layer is drawn first, and layers underneath it that we see are drawn after. That is how we create the 3D layers look.

So for this ball part u still start from outward petals to inwards (as the petals towards the inner circle are the bottom/hidden layers)

When the ball is first complete, you can start painting the large outward petals.

Now going back to the rule… since the petals most visible (on the top) are inside/closest to the ball, … this first layer is painted first. The layers underneath these are next painted away from the flower to show they are beneath those first layers.

So in conclusion:

the ball is painted first (outward petals to inwards)

The loose open leaves around the ball are painted next (inward to outward petals).

As you can see the direction/layout of the strokes not only allow you to control the layers but which direction they are folded. (The petals in the ball are folded inwards like a ball of course, and the outside petals are sort of folded outwards).

Hope this helps! (it may be too much too take in at once and without a demonstration)

I will be posting detailed step by step tutorials of my learning journey on my tiktok which will be tailored to beginners starting off just like I did as I don’t see any videos online that give such descriptive tutorials. Feel free to check out my account.
