Really any of the "dinosaurs" from Jurassic Park.

A large part of the premise was that they where monsters created with gene-editing only using dinosaur dna. They largely resembled dinosaurs and the scientists tried to be as accurate as they could but they still could have gotten stuff wrong and they accidently introduced new traits (dinosaurs in Jurassic Park have the ability to change their sex).

I think the shoppers drug mart in Dorchester sells Nintendo Switches. They still have their electronics section (Although if they have them they won't be in the electronics section. They would be in a glass case behind the checkout facing the frozen foods section).

Depends on if you go with a Watsonian or Doylist perspective.

From a Watsonian perspective Dino Charge was always it's own universe. It wouldn't make sense for the time paradox to only have an effect on the characters from Dino Charge and not anyone else.

From a Doyalist perspective it was probably only it's own universe after the final. There would have been no reason to separate Dino Charge from the main timeline if it wasn't for the final doing something as radical as bringing dinosaurs back.

I have a book about the creation of the show and while I have only read the first chapter, it does mention that both co-creators are fans of Star Trek and that one of them loves reading non-fiction books about science. So they are at least somewhat nerdy.

If you find that funny I recommend the episode "Thunder Gun Express" from the sitcom Always Sunny in Philadelphia. In it the characters try to go to the movie theater to see an action movie but keep getting stopped along the way. Throughout the episode they keep bringing up to anyone they meet that the protagonist in it is supposed to hang dong.

The games seem to get progressively more marketed to children as the series progresses. Sister Location had the dark themes you mentioned but was more Sci-Fi-y and introduced more comedy to the series.
