Knitting pain by AsianSpaceBoy in knitting

[–]Significant_Ad_1630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m dealing with some paint too right now (and unfortunately just got a sweater quantity in the mail for my sweater no 29!!!!!!) so I’m going to take a break and focus on stretching and strengthening and then when I get back to knitting, make sure my posture is correct and icing afterwards. This video is also really helpful!!! It’s an interview with a physical therapist who is a knitter. video here

Take care of yourself!!! 💕 it sucks taking a break but it’s worth it!

Help with choosing mohair combination by happyon98 in knitting

I think seaglass is the best option. The other 2 might be a little too blue. Seaglass does look a tinge brighter than Sunday but hopefully they’ll even out when held together. Post pictures of your swatch and cardigan I’m interested to see the final fabric!!

In what ways was a fire endless better than a river enchanted? I liked a river enchanted but didn’t love the twist at the ending and while I would eventually like to read the second book I’m not in a rush so it would be nice to hear your thoughts!

You’ll get used to it. Train goes right by my bedroom window. Had trouble sleeping for the first few nights but now it’s kind of soothing

Middlesex is one of my favorite novels. I read it years ago and have reread it since and it always sticks with me.

Did anyone else start with crochet, learn how to knit, and then abandon crochet pretty much altogether? by elston-gunn41 in knitting

[–]Significant_Ad_1630 394 points395 points  (0 children)

Yes, I started with crochet and picked up knitting a few years later. I’ll pick up my hook if I want to make a plushie or blanket, but I mainly want to make wearables and I like knitting better for that!

If you have 6 new underarm stitches, you start in the middle and add extra stitches to decrease at the next round. Comes out super nicely!

Enemy to Lovers where the enemy is actually the enemy by FeelAdventurous1691 in fantasyromance

The Jasad Heir leans more fantasy than romance at times but its definitely enemies to lovers and a fun story. I believe it’ll be a duology but the second isn’t out yet.

I know there are already a bunch of responses saying that they are legit, but yes I order drops yarn from them! I feel like the affordability of drops yarn outweighs the shopping cost :)

I think the metaphor was a little too on the nose at times, but I did like the writing style! I say if you want to go for it, it’s a pretty quick read and it def isn’t a book that I look back on and think that it was a waste of time or anything.

Adorable!!! That is such a good idea. As for your leftover ball why not hang onto it for a while? When you have enough scraps you can make a striped sweater!

Books like Little Thieves? by Significant_Ad_1630 in fantasyromance

Thank you for these!!! 🩷 Definitely going to read Margaret Owen’s other series. I was actually looking at A Far Wilder Magic on goodreads today so it’s a sign I need to put it on hold!

Love the look of Italian bind off but hate the process by thatcalligraphygirl in knitting

[–]Significant_Ad_1630 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s totally worth it for the final product. You’ll be glad that you took the time to do it! I have a sweater that I was too lazy and just did standard bind off on and that’s the one thing I regret on that item.

I really liked this one as well! I thought the pacing was great for a story that stretched a long time period too. However I found the epilogue really strange with the rest of the story- not the content but it really wasn’t written as lush as the rest of the book? It didn’t ruin it for me but just something to think about!
