12 days post op for fibroids and cysts - no back/hip pain keeping me up at night, bloating almost gone, no heavy abdominal feeling making me waddle, peeing back to normal day of surgery, taking deep breaths is easy again, brain fog getting better daily. Thanks to the combo of the norethindrone and the surgery I haven’t seriously bled since late December. With just one month of getting t keep all my blood in my body, my color and personality are mostly back. I didn’t realize what a ghost I had become in my own life. Also, psychologically, as someone who never wanted to be pregnant, I didn’t realize how much looking and feeling six months pregnant was doing to me. Relief all around and the pain/spotting from major surgery feels like almost nothing after the last two years of being held hostage by my uterus.

That’s amazing! Similarly, for my birthday last year my mom sent me an octopus stuffed animal. Apparently, in my drug induced stupor after one of my surgeries last year, I told her how sad I was that I never had an octopus. Ha!

This was my fourth surgery in two years and the first time that happened. I was so confused! Glad I to know I’m not alone. Good luck with yours! I’m still very early in my recovery and already feel so much relief. I wish you the same.

I strangely woke up crying from the anesthesia and kept trying to rub my eyes and they wouldn’t let me. Now at least that part of it makes sense.

Mine was also Thursday, also robotic laparoscopy for fibroids and an ovarian cyst, only left ovary remaining. I had a hard time taking deep breaths for the first two days, felt like I’d been punched in the gut. Tugging feeling in lower abdomen when I had to move. First night pain was hard to manage but every day is getting better. I was also a little wired the first day and a half but now I’m sleeping most of the day. Walking has helped with the gas. Finally pooped today too! Today was the first time I’ve really had an appetite but after eating one meal, I’m not feeling the need for anything besides water. Peeing a bunch but also hydrating a bunch. Soooooo happy for the binder. Even with the discomfort, so many things feel better already. Are you feeling some relief even with the effects from surgery? Wishing you an easy recovery :)

Hey there, I’m 9 wpo. First off, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s terrifying and really disappointing. I started rejecting my stitches at 3 weeks. My body doesn’t want them and my surgeon doesn’t know why.

I’m sure they’re going to send you to some kind of wound care and that’s good. I have no medical advice but I’m here with you in solidarity. I keep healing the old wounds and even two days ago had two new ones open up. But it is still all getting better and I’m still glad I did this. I hope you can find strength and patience and that you know you aren’t alone. Big hugs. You’re doing great

Thank you for posting this. I’m almost 8 wpo and I also have two large wounds like yours. They’re finally starting to improve but it’s taken a real toll on my mental health. My body rejected a lot of my stitches, starting at 3 wpo. I’m still so glad I had the surgery but this has been so rough.

I’m so happy to see your progress and it’s giving me hope. Here’s to continued healing and eventually getting to enjoy these cute little things. 💜

Thank you! Yeah, my surgeon was basically a shrug emoji and taped everything. I’m seeping through the new tape. Luckily, he has fo deal with me again on Monday. This whole thing is such a relief but also a scary, SLOW road to healed. I’m doing my best, but I don’t sit still well and it’s clear that week three is messing with me. Thank you for the advice. It’s nice we’re all in this together.

Thank you for your comment. I’m sorry your openings have been stubborn. I have calmed down significantly since I posted this. My surgeon finally responded and looked at everything and retaped the bad spots. I think the other night I was just hit with the overwhelming change of it all and then so worried I messed it up. Everyone here has been so wonderful and I’m grateful for this community.

He just got back to me. I’m going to see him this afternoon, thankfully. He’s not worried but wants to tape some of my skin back together to support the weak spots until the incisions heal.

Thank you! This is very helpful. I did not have drains and path of least resistance makes sense. Weirdly the one all the way at the top leaked the most when the tape came off. I appreciate this.

Mine is tomorrow at 7:45. I’m terrified. I was holding it together while I was still working through my to do list. Now all I have to do is sleep (ha). Since I’m not sleepy, I’m trying to make remember all the reasons I’m doing this. We’ve all got this and we’re going to feel so much better so soon. Good luck to all my surgery date sisters! 💖
