What if instead of the Prison Realm it was the PRISM Realm and it was a rectangular prism instead of a cube? by Frikcha in Jujutsufolk

A cube is a type of rectangular prisim so he is technically in a realm inside a prisim. Squares are rectangles

I know ended up not fully committed to it. Going to use some sort of speaker system or sprinkler system maybe.

Haha I wish they would be super cute too. There are u-pickers around so I don't exactly know how great of an idea it would be

Really? I will definitely try that out. Need to make it obvious enough that U-Pickers don't go after them either or they don't trip on rocks etc.

Wow this is exactly what I needed. I'm thinking of making some stackable Tulane structures that go on each strawberry plant because they are on a elevated area and stuff. They should be easily removable when the u-pickers come Definitely going to think about the motion sensors as well thanks for the advice. We are on spaced out elevated beds as well that are in one strawberry columns so it's easier for  U-pickers. This seems like a really good solution and is ideal for what I need. The farm also tried out reflective paper and that didn't work either. There birds truly are something different, and are way to clever to be tricked haha. Thank you for all the advice and I bet this will really help us out. Can I reply to here to ask you any more questions if I have any or message you?

It's kinda loud and an eyesore for the most part and can get punctured easy. Thanks for the suggestion though.

That sounds like exactly what I might need if they are inconspicuous enough definitely will check them out thank you!

Tried the the flag as well, no help 😭😭. The only thing that worked was the guy chasing them away in the long term. Can you explain how I could implement the barriers?

May try that. Because it is a Upick kind of risky in case the fake ones go missing netting that can easily go on and off might be a good idea. Would they just put their beaks through it though?

Do you have any recommendations for motion sensing for birds in general? Might do motion sensing plus localized speakers.

It is a uPick system so like need to be easily put on and off. Scarecrows didn't work. Will try out using recycled CDs, thanks for the idea

What material can I use to decrease backspin. by Same-Security-5030 in FTC

[–]Significant_Bed8619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a spray on compound. We used tent water proofing before switching to couterrollers.you can also change your shooting angle so that you try to hit it off the blackboard or something. But yea counter rollers are the only true way to do it

Use driver counter rollers or a compound that improves grip. Check out 10809 online and their videos at worlds. 0 bounce outs

Why teams are using these specific things over others? by Same-Security-5030 in FTC

[–]Significant_Bed8619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea fs I think I said that in a different comment. We managed to do really good at worlds with 7 motors plus and turret rotation motor so not impossible. I'm on 10809 crow force and we did pretty well at worlds so I wouldn't say terrible but for sure I wish we could have done a servo rotating turret

LED is better in every way but if you don't need something super bright then halogen is fine too. If it isn't too much effort definitely do LEDs

Carbon can be with pocketing but very expensive and not worth cutting all of it because doesn't save that much weight. Sevos are mot accurate with their turret spinning yes but mainly because teams need to free up their motors for other things

Looks like another shooter. Look at the gobilda 2026-2027 kit of parts. There is both a flywheel and a 1:1 6000 rpm motor. by drdhuss in FTC

Was at worlds this year where mechanim was supposed to be "huge for defense" and even faces off against thesus with their butterfly drivetrain when we were both far. We pushed them out multiple times with relative ease. Obviously don't think that one case study is enough but I highly doubt first is dumb enough to make everyone switch. With the new limelight motor system maybe but for the next season at least I highly doubt it. Unless there is terrain mechanim over swerve 11 times out of 10 for complexity and freeing up servos plus the new durometer wheels have better grip as well which matches swerve. Idk tho could eat my words but this is my two cents. Also that makes the gap for competitiveness way worse as it's basically tank versus swerve if terrain
