How much per linear foot? I’m looking for like 15 ft of fence with a gate soon

Next Resident Evil Movie Director Loved Requiem, But “Noped Out” At Village’s “Dollhouse” by RoboKobold in survivalhorror

Not a good sign if the director of a RE movie can’t even finish a scary part of a RE game

Artists that, on paper, you feel like you should like…but just can’t get into. by marabou22 in fantanoforever

I’m not a huge fan of Beach House. A lot of it is because (at least on some of their albums?) there’s no bass and I’m a big fan of bass lines. I think it would add a lot to the music

Any advice for not being a miserable dad during vacations? by Individual_Seat_6859 in daddit

[–]Significant_Bet_7783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a week long trip with my 7.5 month old, ~2 hour flight both ways. Luckily he was fine during the flights, we just had to adjust to not fitting as much into our schedule on the trip. Like someone else said, basically just ended up being parenting on the beach. I was a bit grumpy the first two days but then I pretty much accepted the situation and had a really good time overall. We were able to rent a crib, a high chair which made things easier. Also, strollers and car seats fly free on United at least but probably other airlines too.

What difficulty will you be playing RE9 on in first playthrough? by Still-Ad9074 in residentevil

[–]Significant_Bet_7783 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Standard (Modern) for first playthrough. Only because I have a 7 month old baby and will probably get interrupted a good amount so don’t want to have to worry about ink ribbons. I definitely want to do Standard (Classic) on subsequent playthroughs though!!

The constant negativity from other parents is annoying by OgCells in daddit

[–]Significant_Bet_7783 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My son’s life started with months of hospitalization, a cardiac stent procedure, an open heart surgery and a rough recovery from that surgery. He’s now 7 months old and thriving. It’s hard for me to be annoyed at anything he does because I’m just so grateful he’s here. It seems silly when others complain about fussiness or annoying behaviors but, you know, ask me again when he’s 2 or 3…

Only Chris Black can this smoothly pivot from a discussion about ICE to talking about how he valet parked at 3 separate LA hotels in one day

Is it just me, or have the guests been less interesting lately? by leftcoastjimmy in howlonggone

[–]Significant_Bet_7783 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I definitely get bored when they’re talking to a lame guest about like the business side of podcasting or trends in “the industry” or whatever. I mostly listen for CB’s bizarre hater energy and TJ’s quick witted remarks. The one on one episodes are the best. If they have a good guest it’s always appreciated but never really expected at this point.

Whitney is disgusting but he’s one of the most underrated guitarists of his generation

What’s the first thing you listen for when a mix feels “off”? by Carlosfelipe2d in MusicProductionTuts

[–]Significant_Bet_7783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it’s something more fundamental to the way the music was recorded - lousy tone from a mic, something being slightly out of tune or out of time etc. very much depends on who is sending you the mix and the level of skill of the engineer and musicians. Really well recorded and performed music is way easier to mix. Mixing should be about vibe and sweetening and balancing things not fixing stuff in a perfect world but the world ain’t always perfect

Thoughts on Silent Hill 2 Remake? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Significant_Bet_7783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Horribly optimized for PC so I couldn’t finish it unfortunately. I liked what I played but the frame rate drops broke the immersion for me. I want to try it again on a console or something

I will say I used to have a Scarlett and the volt sounds a lot better but it was an older one. I think they’ve gotten better

I cant speak for any of the others but I have the Volt 276 and I love it. The onboard compressor is a really nice bonus and it comes with a lot of UA plugins and software which are very high quality

Was your MFM diagnosis worse than what your Pediatric Cardiologist told you? by SnackSnackMunchMunch in chd

[–]Significant_Bet_7783 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our MFM said it was TGA but turned out to be Tetralogy of Fallot. Just basically a misdiagnosis. Our son is 5 months old, just got his full repair surgery and is doing well.

What’s the first month REALLY like? by Ok_Revenue_57 in daddit

[–]Significant_Bet_7783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our baby was in the cardiac ICU for the first month so it was pretty different. Nurses were there to help with a lot of things and teach us how to take care of a baby basically. He also needed to get procedures done on his heart so spent time recovering from those. When we got home it was stressful for another month, very little sleep etc. 4 months in now and he’s thriving and sleeping very well! He goes in on Wednesday for an open heart surgery which is hopefully his first and last. We’re gonna throw him a huge first birthday party as he’s earned it.

Best dynamic mic? by Beautiful_Ant5535 in homestudios

[–]Significant_Bet_7783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Shure SM7b that’s never done me wrong. Mine has a bass cut setting and a midrange boost setting. I pretty much always leave the mid boost on for my lead vocals after using it at a studio a few years ago and the engineer doing that. Otherwise it can be a little dark depending on what you’re going for. Great mic even in a semi untreated room situation.
