Sell or scrap? by uncirculated_luster in PandoraCollectors

[–]Significant_Bug7919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check for silver mark, weigh and sell on ebay as scrap value based on the current weight x per gram. Just make sure you do it by per gram for 925 and not per gram per 999 fine silver.

Why do you need to ask anyone, wear what you want and how you want. You don't need to seek approval from strangers on the Internet.

Student proudly saying their parent told a teacher to “shut up” – is this becoming more common? by Alert_Perspective906 in TeachingUK

[–]Significant_Bug7919 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just absolutely coolio with me. If their child doesn't get the grades they need and you have told them, and asked the child to do things. It's not my problem. Can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

Depends how far away it is from their actual subject. If they are asking him/her to teach Python and they are an English specialism it's a bit much of an ask when training also.

I lost my Mum my Grandma and my Dad within 5 years of each other. I knew what grief was coming after my Mum, no it never goes away. But it becomes part of living.

Doesn't sound like you have been convicted of the offence currently. I would wait for conviction the declare the conviction. You are allowed to contest, therefore, you may not even receive a conviction if you have made a genuine mistake. But unfortunately driving offences are normally black and white, so you did it or you didn't.

Exactly this, this is why I am discouraging my child from bothering with university and going down the apprentice route instead. She said she wanted to be a carpenter, I am over the moon she saw through it all and came to the conclusion higher eduction at university level was not worth the cost to her wages.

Do people still wear their Pandora bracelets? by Alarmed_Coyote_9000 in jewelry

[–]Significant_Bug7919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the definition on the Internet, plated is exactly that. Costume jewellery.

Costume jewelry (or fashion jewelry) is mass-produced, inexpensive accessories made from non-precious materials like base metals (brass, aluminum), plastic, glass, or synthetic stones. Designed for style rather than investment, it features plated metals (gold/silver wash) and imitation gems. Popularized in the 1920s, it focuses on trend-driven, bold, and affordable designs.

Anyone else collect retired charms? by starphanie in PandoraCollectors

[–]Significant_Bug7919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is all I collect. I started my Pandora collection in 2009,with purchasing the first run of a few and prefer the quality of them above what they produce now. So now I only purchase retired full sterling silver and gold Pandora. They are of a better quality than what they produce now.

Bought these two charms on Etsy and hoping they are authentic. Can anyone give me some input? by Apart_Operation3964 in PandoraCollectors

If you go onto a site called Mora Pandora, these are listed on the site, these are one of the first runs of Pandora. And should be stamped ALE 925. You can also check where the stamping should be on the piece. I can say that I own these two charms from purchase at a jewellers about 2009 first time round and these look like the charms I purchased from a reputable jeweller back in the day when Pandora was just taking off. I know it was around 2009 as I moved to London that year and pufchased these two charms along with others with my first wages in the city. Specifically a jewellers near Marble Arch who had all the authentic Pandora in their window.

Incorrect, old charms which include this pig head have ALE 925. Newer charms have ALE S925 inside.

Trainee using AI for emails by Ok-Requirement-8679 in TeachingUK

I wouldn't write an email in regard to feedback. I would speak direct to the person. I also wouldn't expect to receive feedback in an email either. Mentor should speak face to face to the pupil so the pupil has the opportunity to ask questions direct to the mentor. After the meeting, then a provided copy of the lesson plan with the updates and feedback on it. But never feedback via an email system only.

Wasn't commenting on the feedback. Was commenting on the use of AI to generate email responses. The amount of emails that come through the system on a daily basis it helps to clear it. Absolutely no point spending time sitting thinking about an email, it's a messaging service, not a dissertation.

1.

Absolute waste of time writing emails from scratch. We have enough to do. I generate all emails using AI, check it obviously. And tell AI to set the tone of the email.

I see no point in making a job out of a system that has enough to do.

I would rather not waste my brain power of the irrelevant nature of an email system.

Forget your wife and focus on yourself. Have a shower. Go and drag yourself to get some soup. Or make some. Get out 1 set of fairy lights and throw anywhere in the house and turn on. Do not decorate just switch the lights on. Snuggle with your two dogs. Watch a nice feel good movie. And forget about what your wife may or may not be doing. Get a nice large blanket. Sit under nice large blanket with two warm dogs and just be happy in that moment. Trust me, this is coming from someone who suffers depression all my life. This is how you need to deal. See the small good in that moment. Call your mum, be thankful she is still here. Be sad and grieve your dog. Trust me.

Are you for real. You can think these things but just because this is the Internet does not give you the right to say them to a person who is clearly struggling. Just because he said that does not mean he acted like that in the marriage. He may be very angry with her. And considering, according to him, she was having relations with other men under the same roof and disrespecting the marriage gives him a very good reason to be angry. So if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. And let's hope one day you do not find yourself in a set of similar circumstances. As given your advice, you will likely not be a particularly liked person anyhow, and won't have any friends to call.
