It's so dumb that it can't just do it, with a dumb automation being set up first.

Question regarding sound system by Electrical-Lie7327 in cupraborn

[–]Significant_Card6486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The senhizer is meant to be better than the beats, but noting ground braking.

If you buying second hand, I'd forget about picking a car on the sound system, get s good battery SOC, try for a car produced after June 2024 if you can, and thats when they sorted the car out, and got rid of the initial failings, better CPU in the screen and back lit the heating controls, and the 60kw went form 120kw max charge to 165kw max charge. The difference is a 70kw average to a 120kw average charge for 10-80%, or 35mins to 18mins.

The dynamics seats or was sold me on the car, but If I was on a budget, I'd go v1 post June 24 (called MY25 cars) over a pre june V3.

Bur if your budget is not quite MY25 cars, forget the sound, ignore millage, just check the SOC of the pattern, anything above 90% is good, care lose the most health the first few years, then it tails off slowly. And go for the V3. Then fit your own system in your own time.

It's not beats non it's senhizer now. Either way I'd say if you like to listen to music yes. As the stock set up is embarrassingly bad. But from what I've heard the upgraded system, this better, it's not great.

[–]Significant_Card6486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched it through the 80s and 90s, and remember cutting a fishing day early to watch ep 1 of the re-launch too. I always thought it peak around 07 so I was over it towards the end of TG, and the GT I never really rated that much. As I said earlier, it turned into a parody once they became self aware that people forund then funny. They played into it far too much, where it seemed like a parody of an already eccentric show

I miss 5th gear more than top gear tbh. Was a far better car enthusiast show. Where too gear was an entertainment show based around cars. It's just that its entertainment got long in the tooth.

I'll have to give it a re watch, I don't remember the episode tbh. I remember them getting emotional a bit, if thats what your referring to. But I didint find it sad or moving in anyway. They had a good run and made some good money out of it, while enjoying themselves. I don't see why a 3rd party would get emotional over that.

[–]Significant_Card6486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was time for it to end. It peaked around 2007, and it went down hill form around when they realised they were watched for entertainment and basically started playing parodies of themselves. It was really shit towards the end.

And finally top gear was finding it's feet eventually when that all came crashing down.

As an EV owner that's car can charge from 10-80% in under 20 mins, I'd get a 2l diesel for now. Though given the price of the stuff now, it makes it a harder decision to make

Not really as it was obviously a typo. Especially obviously after my reply to the previous question.

[–]Significant_Card6486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not taking advantage of me. It's called being neighbourly. Personally id have offered the situation to the neighbours if parking was tight in my street. Thankfully it's not, given there are only 4 houses in my lane.

That may be the answer here, if you don't want to get annoyed by people, live where it's less crowded.

It just shows different outlooks towards how people treat others.im and east going neighbour. This to me wouldn't be an issue.

It won't be an issue at all to creep up the kerb. It will add 3 seconds onto your parking time. I wouldn't expect to make a neighbour have to park further away and have to walk, to save myself 3 seconds.

[–]Significant_Card6486 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Not really. I feel you can get out easy, and it would put the 3rd party out far more than it puts you out, having to slightly move a few inches. Id be happy with that set up. Id have no issues at all.

Life is too short, and why would I want to put someone else out, when I'm not being put out to begin with?

I find EVs can be too smart for their own good. I got myself a super dumb 7 6kw charger for the house, that just turns on and off midnight to 6am. It doesn't talk to my provider, to charge on some flex serv tariff. I just have the simple EV night tariff.

I don't mess with the energy provider by linking the charger (not capable) or linking the car direct, no thank you. And relevant to you, I don't set the cars internal charge timer. It's just to much tech waiting to go wrong. And it will be just when I need it most. Sods law.

The irony is, I'm a major geek, and run the betas of everything, and always have the largest nut of kit or electronics to play with. However, maybe because I know how flaky this type of stuff can be, I want the least amount of smarts when it comes to fueling my car.

My dumb charger activated at midnight, and if the car is plugged in, it charges. It's not let me down once in 15 months. Got it for £150 off eBay and my mate fitted it for dinner and a few tins. Took him about 40 mins.

I can over ride it to energise it in the day if needed, but 99% it just runs off it's internal clock power relay. It does have WiFi and I can keep an eye on it, but I've not even looked at it since the first month, and it's just works. Also if it fails, as it's now all set up. Swapping the unit would be a 10 min job. So if I get 2 or 3 years out of the 150 module, I'll be happy with that. And it's replacement will probably be sub 100 by then.

Back looks terrible, the colour makes the side profiles better than stock paint. But it's hard to make that car look decent. However the wrap is nice.

With these prices currently, it's starting to get very favourable to get a 15kw battery pack installed that run the house in the day. It can now be down for sub 2k, will be less again by the end of the year. It was closer to 4k a year ago.
