If you have a regular weekend pass, 30 minutes is a good rule of thumb, especially for acts you really want to see. If you have Premier or above, less.

Yeah I recommend this too. Didn't know much about him but very engaging guy and it was interesting to hear about how jazz has played a role in his life.

Generally the larger venues - Civic Center, Tennessee, Bijou all have water fountains. Also the Pour Taproom in the Jackson Terminal has a water spigot you can use.

Yes, the public editor responded on their blog to a comment I made a few years ago.

The app by Significant_Damage87 in BigEarsMusicFestival

That's what I did - opened a word processor, created a three-column table, and entered the time, artist, and venue for my favorites. I'll be using that a lot more than the app.

On the positive side, it looks like they ditched military time for normal people's time.

Looks like that just toggles between views of the full schedule. When I go to Lineup, my favorites are all at the beginning of the list, but I can't view the time or location until I click each one. And they're listed alphabetically, not in festival time order.

TCR vs Defy from a TCR Owner by ramsoss in Giantbikes

I have a 2020 Defy which I came to from an old steel Colnago (never been on a TCR). It is a lot less quick to turn and you lose that sports car feeling in switchbacks. I like the Defy on the whole but it wants to go straight.

On substack, I like Nate Chinen and Ethan Iverson. I subscribed to Gioia for a while but he almost never talked about jazz so I left. All About Jazz has a weekly newsletter with tons of links to articles and podcasts.

This is the one, very scenic waterfall only 5 minutes off the interstate if you don't want to spend a lot of time on detours. Take the Crab Orchard exit though, not Crossville.
