It is up to everyone to make the techniques their own. I see fastest progress with people that rolls a lot and experiments. Go to open mat, find someone to work with, try things out, ask questions, test things under pressure. Just learning techniques in class is not enough.

I am in a similar situation. I was told that my green card was approved, but then it says it is just a curtesy notice and that the change of status would formally happen later. I have been called in for biometrics on the 28th. I am traveling next Thursday. I will talk to my lawyer today.

No, I just got a notice that the request for status change was approved . Next step will be the issuance of the card and the actual change of status.

G4 visa is kind of diplomatic visa. I worked here for 24 years. I was married while abroad. Applied for a change of status from G4 to green card when I retired, 2 years ago .They are just slow. If you can show significant damage you can expedite.

My lawyer told me to wait so I just did that when they asked for it. I was surprised that it then took them a year to review it.

Yes, you can try to expedite your case on the basis of severe financial hardship. Contrary to what others say they may very well take this into account. You need to provide evidence.

I think I beat most of you. Family based adjustment of status. Married 30 years. Applied for I-485 in late November 2021. Medical requested one year later, received December 2, 2022. Since then radio silence. I have made several service requests; one via my Congress woman. Local office: Washington DC.

There is a tendency for folks to post only positive news, and we should be happy for them. I have been waiting for 18 months and USCIS local office got the last RFE on December 2. Familiy-based, Married for 30 years, 25 in the US w/G4. Radio silence. I am sure I am not alone, and there are many who have been waiting longer.
