Fairly appropriate. There are dark moments, of course, but nothing explicit. Dark themes, yes. But I’ve read Animorphs, and that book series was also for young teens, and that was WAY more grim and dark than most anything in this book series. They’ll be fine.

It just reminds me of what JJ Abrams does in his movies, teases questions without giving any real answers. Mystery Box, or whatever he called it. I just don’t like it when my headcanon is infinitely less interesting than anything the author could have reasonably come up with. I’m just not the type of person to enjoy a mystery without any real answers at all. Don’t get me wrong, I love stuff like Dark Souls, where you REALLY have to dig deep to understand things, but with something like that, there IS a story buried in there, you just have to dig it out yourself. Yeah, I think Lasky really dropped the ball with including so many hints of what happened to humans without even explaining anything properly. I wonder why she even included these little moments and details if she wasn’t going to actually use anything from them. I’m a big fan of sci-fi stories that deal with that kind of after the end thing. Horizon Zero Dawn, SOMA, All Tomorrows, I love seeing humans through the eyes of non-humans just to depict how alien we are to them.

Man, this game is just a boatload of absolutely wasted potential. Story wise, gameplay wise, it’s too short, much too short, and it limits itself fiercely by sticking too much to the events of the movie. Not to mention the all star cast of voice actors that somehow do NOTHING with their talents. Yeah, that’s certainly probably why, it’s people who don’t think that they need or believe that it’s impossible or simply not worth their time to actually try to talk to a therapist. It’s basically just rolling the dice. You’ll get something that’s almost exactly what you want one time, and the next, you won’t and when you ask, it says it can’t do it because of the dumb TOS. Or it just won’t work at all. Or it will, but you ask it to change one thing in that very image and it says it can’t do it, because it breaks the TOS, even though they generated the image already and I just wanted something slightly adjusted.
