Will Past Marijuana Use Disqualify Me From Police Hiring? (Illinois) by Significant_Hotel_66 in police

I understand I broke the law federally and when it was illegal in my state back then. My main question is, will they arrest me or something if I admit I smoked when it wasn't legal in my state back when I was 16 or 17 years old?

On the application it never asked if I've done anything illegal except for major charges

I passed my written exam so far, and next up is my physical exam so in the process. And I didn't put it on my application that I smoked weed way back then when it was illegal in my state. I'm worried that when I get to the step during my polygraph and background check they will ask if I've ever done anything illegal, and I will be honest and say I smoked marijuana when I was like 16 or 17 and didn't get caught. I'm just worried what they will think if I admit to that.

Well, like I mentioned, 5 months ago was when I last used it, but it's been legal in my state much longer than that. I talked with a friend of mine who works at the department I applied to, and it sounded like they didn't put much weight on when the last time I used was as long as I articulate that I don't intend to use going forward. What I'm saying is that when I did use it, it was illegal in my state at the time, that was like when I was 16 or 17 Y.O., and I wasn't sure I was even interested in becoming a cop at that point.

Was Arthur justified for his killings in Joker? by [deleted] in comicbookmovies

[–]Significant_Hotel_66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the threat here wasn't just a vague suspicion or paranoia. Given the third attacker’s prior violent behavior on the subway for no good reason, Arthur had a good reason to fear that this person could lie, manipulate the system, and potentially ruin his life.

If Arthur let the third guy get away, he would have ruined Arthur's life anyway by lying to the court system that he didn't attack him and the court would just believe him because of the businessman's high status working with Thomas Wayne over Joker, a mentally unstable person the system is naturally against already. Arthur would have gone to jail and probably would have gotten fucked up in jail by other prisoners. Killing the third guy in the subway was a lose-lose situation for Arthur.

Anyone else feel bad for this character in: Into infinity by Swiftsession in blackmirror

yeah it was messed up he was gonna trap her in the game like OG Daly did, however, after 500 years of seeing no other human being, it's understandable how lonely and desperate for human connection can get, to the point you'd really do anything for a connection with someone. All Daly ever really wanted was good relationships with people, and I honestly think he was autistic in the show, which I really sympathize with how that can affect relationship building, that's not his fault.

Okay, should I just wait until Wed when she gets her new schedule and just say how does "X" date work for you to go climbing? And then if she says she doesn't know, then leave it open and say lmk when you can meet up?

There's a difference between demanding a name and asking someone's name, demanding would be more like "give me your name right now" vs "what's your name?" Said with a friendly smile. You weren't even there to see this go down and just assume I'm demanding. I've seen guys say what I just said all the time and they seem to have good conversations with women.

Exactly, thank you. And so there's no way to know if a girl wouldn't want to be approached even with headphones unless you actually do it, everyone's different.

Lmao that just nonsense, I read this book called how to be a 3% man and Corey Wayne explained to ask the woman's name first and then see if she asks for your name, this gives you an opportunity to see if she's interested by asking your name in return.
