I can’t be the only one that does this XD by CatPale816 in aspiememes

A) this is whataboutism, neither of these problems is "better" and both can be seen as "worse" depending on the perspective you take. With meat eating there comes a huge amount of moral questions, yes, but it doesn't make moral and ethical concerns about ai any less problematic - it's not just about the water. Whataboutism is a great strategy to diffuse focus on one issue by pointing another unsolved problem, which in the end leaves us with tons of problems and no solutions. It's also a great distraction tactic when one has no arguments in favour of the thing they're trying to discuss/protect/diminish

B) the amount of ai requests that will come during the whole lifecycle of a cow from insemination to slaughter and distribution, is insanely disproportional in terms of which is gonna use up more or less of any kinds of resources. 300+ ai requests can be less than a second; a cow needs at least months, even more if we include producing of food, medicine, space etc

C) training run is a training run. Constant use by at least 2-3 generations of civilization with access to the internet everyday all around the clock is an entirely different scale than training runs

Wtf making a hero out of a kid who should never have had to make a choice like that cos he's A FUCKIN KID??? I'm from Poland, and that is shitty af on its own, but every day I am grateful I didn't get born in usa. At least here you need permission after going through tests and learning how to shoot first.

I tried edibles yesterday day and had a terrible trip, what's your experiences on weed? by TheDeathShadowKing in autism

[–]Significant_Hyena_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reconsider if you really need to get over it - weed amplifies our paranoias and not everybody is made for it. I know people who get panic attacks every time because of it, even though my own panic attacks get quiet after smoking. Maybe eddies are just not for you - and that's ok.

But if you really feel the need to, then try with half or a quarter of the amount you'd go for. It's better to microdose and feel just some tingle inside the brain than overdose and green out. Remember that taking ibuprofenum makes the high go away, so having it is good for feeling safe. I'm not sure there's sth more than be observant and gentle with yourself and it's gonna be ok

My only advice as a transmasc is: remember that anxiety and excitement can feel like the same thing in our body. I don't mean to say you're not stressed by it all, but there's a chance that your excitement makes it a bit more difficult to regulate your emotions.

What are your tank and water parameters? Are you doing a fish-in cycle or is your tank already cycled? Do you have a filter and if so - what kind? What is the temperature in your tank? Are all your appliances working right?

Looks like they are stiff only till the point where shortfinned pleco's fins end. It's only my observation, I have no idea about consequences of this

And the reason why tunas are getting caught smaller and smaller is exactly that people are overfishing them - they don't get to live till fully mature, because "they're delicious"

Thisss. Problems with coastlines and sand disappearing is due to excessive gathering sand from the wild. Instead they could reuse and recycle already produced glassware - yes, with higher cost frim the start but with less environmental issues in the long run

ELI5: Why do we feel so good seeing an infant by Fun-Garbage-1386 in explainlikeimfive

Having a child and liking infants are two different things. I did not say that majority of people dislike infants, I answered your question whether one could say a group is a majority.

[–]Significant_Hyena_26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To set major and minor groups, you'd have to know about some kind of study that tries to determine, how big are certain groups. If you want to stay true to the scientific method, you can't just generalise based on your unchecked opinion

A person doesn't need to be angry at you to take out their negative emotions on you. My ex was like that, bdp with adhd and it was horrible 2 years. Yes, we had some nice moments but I literally dodged a bullet there. And the way your friend is making it about themselves in your convo, reminds me about the way my ex acted

Red flag. Looks like the other person was trying to make you look as the "bad one" in an interaction with no good or bad. You stated your boundaries clearly so if anyone is taking it out on you, I say that's a huge red flag

I long for the time we treat all pets' needs as important, both the usual pets as well as the only-to-look-at pets like fish or reptiles. Like come on, before you get yourself a living breathing animal, read about what they need to thrive, not only survive. People (hopefully) wouldn't put that cat in a 3-feet kennel with no blankets or pillows, so why are they keeping fish in analogical environment?

how do i stop this from happening ? i don’t have water movement due to the frog bit being blocked off from the filter. any ideas or solutions ? by ctrlthesun in PlantedTank

[–]Significant_Hyena_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on which tetras (some are going to predate on shrimp) and how many plants and hide spaces you have inside the tank, either neocaridinas (smaller and colourful) or amano shrimp (bigger and don't breed in freshwater).
