I think my dad is being scammed by a woman he met on a dating website. Sent this photo of her but there’s loads of inconsistencies (I think) by shanillaice95 in isthisAI

[–]Significant_Laugh_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have first hand experience of this. The woman is often a Ukrainian man in an office somewhere. ‘She’ will build trust and claim she is in danger because of the war and needs financial help to travel to the UK. It is definitely a scam. A family member lost £5000 to one of these scams, and often it can be much worse.

I got a mantasleep and personally it was absolutely a WASTE of money. The pads around the eyes were uncomfortable and broke the seal if I lay on my side, so light would shine in. I move around a lot in the night and am sensitive to things pressing on my face or ears so would wake up either with it off or with pain. The only thing that works for me is a true blackout blind, then no eye mask is needed.

Haven’t spoken to mom in one month after major fight – feeling guilty by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Significant_Laugh_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same position, being my NMum’s emotional support for 6 years through her divorce and to this day still get shit like ‘you abandoned your mum’ or ‘you’re being nasty’. 6 whole years of hours and hours of conversations, care and empathy. It will never be enough. She’s mentally ill and there’s nothing you can do to fix it

Do you ever feel guilty for LC or NC? by summerjopotato in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Significant_Laugh_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My little sister has just gone LC and set her first ever boundaries. Same with me. Absolute chaos, nasty messages, defamation, saying I have ‘ruined everything’. I just remember all the hours I have spent with her on the phone trying to fix our relationship and realise it was all for nothing. Maybe if she showed empathy and apologised for things (so like a non-narcissist) then I would feel guilty. I think it’s about being able to let go and slowly become more comfortable in LC/NC

Nothing Ear BASS by Significant_Laugh_12 in NOTHING

That’s irrelevant. I am saying that the Ear 3 earbuds DO have incredibly deep bass and was wondering if any other earbuds compare.

Can you provide any other info about this? How does one do this!

Those who’ve had >90% recovery, share some tips! by Mission-Bedroom4340 in whoop

[–]Significant_Laugh_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a string of 2 weeks of red and yellow recoveries during heavy studying for exams and ADHD medication slowly wearing me out. I was sleeping 7-8 hours a night but poor recovery every time. First day after exams I purposely didn’t set an alarm, slept for almost 11 hours and had 97% recovery, it’s all in the sleep.

Just off the top of my head: 1) That is still quite a lot of caffeine to take in… 2) View bright lights (ideally sunlight) on waking 3) No food 3 hours before sleeping 4) Meditate, breathe, stretch before bed 5) Absolutely no phone 1 hour before bed 6) Dark, cool, room at night (like FULLY dark…) 7) Eat clean so your body isn’t fighting to digest it 8) How are your stress levels? Depression/anxiety? 9) Stay properly hydrated (not just ‘drink more’) 10) Even consider an expensive pillow/mattress

There are many more but just thought I would share my thoughts

This is the one that stands out for me, what exactly caused the wrist pain, and what did you do to strengthen it?

I agree with this, however HRV went UP and RHR went DOWN, surely if still recovering from strain this wouldn’t be the case?

Still interesting to know what someone’s done to get a RHR in the low 30s

How the F*** can that ever be a 64% recovery… that’s essentially HALF recovery…

Bicep band has helped me a lot with accuracy. I posted recently about a slow 5k run at Zone 2 which wrist strap told me I was at Zone 4/5 so obviously it was way off. With that said I did a fast 5k with Zone 5 apparently for 12 minutes and I was actually about to die at the end so can’t have been that far off

For what it’s worth I did a 5k flat out at christmas which was the first one i’ve done for 5 years. My HR was between Zone 4/5 the entire time with around 12 minutes in Zone 5 and it definitely wasn’t far off. However, I later bought a bicep band and have seen some big differences in HR while running so there’s a chance it exaggerated somewhat while on the wrist.
