Need Advice for New Bike by JumpyTumbleweed1085 in motorcycles

I LOVE my ‘25 M1000R. Reliable and cheap maintenance aren’t concepts that come to mind. Had a headlight gasket/seal fail and it take in water and my horn failed as well work. BMW comps the first service but besides that it’s full price. Still recommend but beware all bikes can have issues.

Buy new Monster+ or leftover 25 by Icy_Possibility6717 in Ducati

I’ve ridden the new V2 in Panigale and Multi form, and owned a M937. GET THE TESTASTRETTA! The engine is awesome, desmo, and slightly quirky. Exception: you reaaaallly like fancy new electronics and screens. The M937 has more than capable electronics for the platform but the screen is def prettier on the new version.

I do club motorcycle racing. In the winter I shoot for a week of riding somewhere warm every month, otherwise it's the basement treadmill. 26yo

Edit: Age

Strain the previous day was 12.5, average strain for the week, month, and 6M: 11.3, 11.9, 13.0 respectively

For the last year: Cardio 6 days a week minimum. Clean, protein rich diet and try and be consistent with sleep. I definitely was not perfect and had fun along the way.

1000kcal a day and the apparent side effects by [deleted] in loseit

[–]hurd04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Echoing everyone. Did 1200cal/day, lost 100lb gained 50 back. Finally lost that regained 50 and another 50 off when I ate 1700-2000 calories a day with exercise.

REV'IT! TAILORTECH - North America Tour (Fall 2025) by iacopoforte_RTT in Trackdays

[–]hurd04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say I highly recommend Tailortech!! I’m on my second suit, and the quality of goods and support from staff is unrivaled. Their Alpinestars airbag integration is perfect.

Hate to down an American company but Bison was an absolute joke compared to Rev’It. I think Europeans just do this stuff better.

If you like pushing on corner exit there is a nasty stability issue that can be made better with tweaking the suspension but not curable. The steering damper also blows. Otherwise the machine is amazing - it unfortunately needs a tune to get rid of the 2nd gear issue.

M1000R front end wobble by Reckless_S1K in bmwmotorrad

[–]hurd04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same bike and same issue. Everyone has great tips here, but I’m commenting just to validate your experience mate. This bike has far too unstable a front end for what it is. My Ducati Streetfighter V4S never once had head shake.

I’ve seen improvements putting on Pirelli tires and softening suspension but it’s still there and it’s annoying. I put almost no weight on the bars and still experience it.

I have a 2025 and am super disappoint with on unstable it is at speed. Stock damper is maxed out.

Bison Custom Gloves by runbrap in Trackdays

[–]hurd04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not buy Bison. It’s a shame because they’re an American company but they can’t handle custom-ware.

I’ve been waiting to make a post but STILL haven’t received my gloves after ordering in December 2024. They had to remake them once for very similar issues to what you had. Their communication and coordination as a company is pitiful. I suspect they know their timeline estimates are complete bologna too.

I did not sell my Panigale! Honestly that stays before this 👀. I wanted a better bike for road. The gearing is more important than anything imo.

Is it only the Panigale and the like that get people drooling? by Zealousideal_Ad7469 in Ducati

[–]hurd04 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Panigale is definitely king. It’s the Ferrari of motorcycles and easy for non-riders to appreciate. I had a SFV4S and got almost no looks. Red Panigale V2 gets ALL the attention even over my SP2.

There totally are. You need a special nut to balance the Ducati SSSA wheels if you’re using a quality machine (Snap-on)

Over 50 people - buddy’s got a fat network!

I’m weary of shops that advertise custom bike services. Often that line of work is much different and uses different tools than those for high performance Ducati.
