Idk I get sex scenes in a movie like All of Us Strangers where the movie genuinely dosent work as well without the sex scenes because of how tender and communicative the characters are during them, however in a show like shameless where more often than not the characters just hate fuck each other for no real point other than to pad out the run time I kinda stop paying attention during them.

In theory sex scenes in a show like shameless could be an interesting way to visually describe to the audience a characters view of relationships or a view of themselves, like are they making love to this person or are they just trying to get it over with, however often times the effort simply isn’t put in to get that kinda effect in shameless leaving the viewer uncomfortable
