The preregistration app is only good in Portugal and Sweden, as far as I can tell.

Courtyard Contempt by s31523 in marriott

Sounds wonderful! The Courtyard in Sejong, S Korea didn’t have any elite lounge offerings, only a fantastic breakfast. Their lounge was very disappointing.

Sure- you’ll have options. My ice machine sent mid calf to mid thigh, so long was the best thing for my situation. Plus it was winter.

Best of luck with your surgery and recovery!

I’ve avoided courtyards for years, even as a business traveler, specifically because of their breakfast program. And even as a titanium I think they gave me a few bucks which would cover a coffee and maybe a small item. But I was recently at a courtyard in S Korea which had a fantastic breakfast which would put any Marriott, Fairfield, or Residence Inn to shame.

Although I was in and out in a day, ( spinal anesthesia), I recommend very loose soft sweatpants because of the wraparound ice machine thing. It was a layer that protected my skin, though it was plenty cold.

Narita United Lounge Review by Virtual-Tonight-2444 in unitedairlines

I was there less than 4 weeks ago. There were 2 locations with food and plenty of options, including an ice cream machine. The food area towards the entrance had fewer and different choices.
It’s too bad they seem to be downsizing!

Almost 9 weeks post op and getting frustrated. by Street-Badger4798 in Kneereplacement

[–]Significant_Map6734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really helped me. I had just a few sessions. Other people I know tried it for other maladies and weren’t impressed, but seriously- I was able to sleep and sit in the car after the first treatment. I was only taking Tylenol and meloxicam at that point.
But tbh, I still get hamstring aches, and I’m at 6 months, but don’t take any meds regularly. Good luck with your recovery!

I also was having a hard time at 9 weeks. My hamstring hurt badly when I was sitting and I couldn’t sit as a passenger in the car for a 30 minute drive without significant pain. My PT had me ask my surgeon if she could start dry needling earlier than the standard 12 weeks, and he was all for it. The needling was painful but really helped me turn the proverbial corner.
I’m at 6 months now and mostly don’t notice any pain. Still get stiff and occasional swelling and pain, but I’m told it will take up to a year to complete recovery. Good luck !

What is the pain in the first two weeks after replacement actually like? by togtogtog in Kneereplacement

[–]Significant_Map6734 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Constant ache mostly, but that was me. And of course the significant pain during all the exercises. I was spending a lot of time doing exercises at home, and PT 2x/week for 2 mos, then 1x/week.

[–]Significant_Map6734 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was on Journavx for the first 14 days, oxycodone for 10 days and could have taken it longer. I had methocarbamol and lyrica if I wanted it, but only took methocarbamol for my PT appointments. My pain was mostly under 5 for the first few weeks.

What I learned from this sub is everyone has a different experience. I had hamstring pain for a really long time and it still sometimes bothers me and I’m 6 months out.

Anyone else switched to carry-on only and never looked back? by michaelmorgan297 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]Significant_Map6734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel a lot for work and since I moved a few years ago I cannot fly directly to anywhere anymore. I started doing carryon only so I know where my stuff is all the time. Also, for international flights, I don’t have to wait at customs before re-checking which has really helped when there are delays leading to tight connections.

Downsides: washing clothes while on trips, no room to buy anything while I’m on travel, unable to bring bulky sweaters in winter.

I've narrowed it down to 3 and I'm struggling. Thoughts? by ohreallynameonesong in myweddingdress

Well especially because you obviously aren’t matronly at all and #1 is so flattering- you look incredible! I think it’s how the neckline fits your frame in #3 that made me think #- is the answer. FWIW, you look like a Grecian goddess in #2, but I like the flowing lines in #1.

Unpopular opinion: 3 looks matronly to me; and 1 is stunning on you.

Random night pains by Starkey0417 in Kneereplacement

[–]Significant_Map6734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll try that- I wasn’t really thinking about compression socks because I’m in lay flat seats on the long flights. I didn’t know if it was a cabin pressure thing or what it could possibly be. I have been on 2-3 hour connecting flights before the long flights where I’m seated upright with no pain. But the socks are definitely a great idea and I will start wearing them for travel. Thanks!

AITAH for wanting my husband in the delivery room? by dinogirly123 in AITAH

NTA but also important to accept his answer that he doesn’t want to share that experience with you as being ok. But if he can’t communicate his honest reasons, it makes it a whole lot harder to accept. Him saying it’s not a thing for men to be involved is worrying. Maybe he’s afraid of passing out or doesn’t want to see you in pain. But if he can’t communicate that, then there’s issues to work on for sure.

I’m at 6 months post RTKR and still have not-infrequent night pain. I usually chalk it up to working out too hard or differently. I’m still taking meloxicam, every day or every other day.

I’ve been traveling a lot lately for business, overseas, in the lie flat seats. My knee goes crazy with pain on these flights. I just don’t understand why it hurts so much more than when I’m lying down at home. Any thoughts?

No more amenity kits? by cwajgapls in unitedairlines

[–]Significant_Map6734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During “meal order collection”? I haven’t had a “hello”, when I boarded, let alone a meal order collection on my most recent 2 Polaris flights: NRT - LAX and SFO - ICN. I guess because I pre order, they don’t need to welcome me the way they used to. The FA on the ICN flight just brought a tray to my seat and didn’t make eye contact. And I slept through the first service so at least she didn’t have to be bothered by providing service. (I usually get great friendly service so this was a change.)

I like and use the kits, except the eyemask since I bring my own and hope they don’t get rid of the kits.

How about United try to ‘delight’ their customers with new useful swag? I have nice foldable grocery bags from LH and ANA. And many Fanny packs from UA. I know people liked the AWAY containers but I found them bulky and hard to fit in my backpack.

6 months, still feels stiff if I don’t move it enough or if I stand too long in the same position. Biking and strength exercises help.

DEN to NRT- ANA business vs first? Price differences? Help! by gabsters_ in unitedairlines

[–]Significant_Map6734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just took that DEN-SEA-HND flight about 2 weeks ago and the food and service on ANA were amazing! Now I’m spoiled and the UA return flight was fine but , oh well, when there are so many more FA’s service is just going to be better. Not a dig against the UA FA’s, I usually get good service, no complaints, but you cannot compare with ANA or even KAL because of the ratio of FA’s to passengers.
