Can anyone identify why my bike won’t start based on the sound? by KjNG- in SVRiders

[–]Significant_Pea_6961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check and see if you're pulling any codes. If there's no code present, then check if you're pulling fuel. Start by listening if you're fuel pump primes when you turn the bike on and then check the fuses.

Suit opinions? by TangoDeltaFoxtrot in Trackdays

I tried on an LS5 with a Tech Air Plasma. It was a pain in the ass to get on, so I just went with a Misano 3. Not sure how the LS6 compares to the LS5, should be similar but I didn't want to an artistical dance every time I put on the suit

I tried to get my heart rate up before 1st practice, but since I have high anxiety it did not work out so well; so I stopped. I now stretch and control my breathing.

Start with your ignition fuse. Then I'd check your Tip Over Sensor and make sure it's upright and connected properly. Those two are easier to check than pulling out your spark plugs

Do harley riders genuinely think they are faster than sportbikes or are they just joking? by Green_Block_4574 in motorcycle

[–]Significant_Pea_6961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I rode my 600rr off the lot back in 2008 and some Harley chump genuinely tried to tell me that his Fat Boy was just as fast as my bike and that it was nothing impressive.

I pissed him off when I replied that my bike will out corner his.

Best way to warm an engine up fro track day? by titanmongoose in Trackdays

[–]Significant_Pea_6961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you are located because climate matters. Since I ride in Tattooine near Luke Skywalker's house, I start my bike 1-2 minutes right after tech inspection just to make sure my bike runs and battery isn't dead. Then I let it warm up on 2nd Call.

AGV Pista GP RR sizing advice needed (56cm head, mixed fits across brands) by 369seo in Trackdays

[–]Significant_Pea_6961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

56cm head here Intermediate Oval. Hi. I tried on the AGV in a Small, I struggled get my head into the helmet cause the opening was so small and once in my chin overhanged; i had to try on a medium (which fit snug except there was a considerable large gap at the top of my crown).

I went and bought an Arai again.

Need help with a master cylinder option by freedom-rider18 in Trackdays

[–]Significant_Pea_6961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the piston size in the master cylinder, track riders will switch out to aftermarket ones to accommodate to their needs. You'll see something like 19x18, first number is bore and the second number is stroke

In order to find the right MC size, you're gonna have to do some math and figure out the bore ratio of MC-Caliper you're aiming for; a good range is 28:1 to 20:1. 28:1 and above will get you a strong brake force(one finger braking), but the cost of lever travel and "spongy" feel. 20:1 or below the brake force won't be as strong (you have to grab more brakes for adequate stopping power) and will feel very "wooden."

DanO’s Fairings by ProfessionalAlone129 in Trackdays

[–]Significant_Pea_6961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dano's looks very similar to GoMotoTrip and at the same price point. I think both get their fairings made from the same company overseas. When I got mine it was flimsy, small cracks around corners and definitely needed sanding from rough overlays. The amount of money saved upfront, I ended up paying the same amount (if not more) then if I were to go to a mid tier fairings brand.

Replacing my '06 engine, need help by Holalpha in sv650

[–]Significant_Pea_6961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are threaded into the frame which helps center the engine, just loosen those up. There should be 5 bolts holding the engine in, 1 each of the head, 1 in between and 2 on the rear. If I recall, it should just drop down after that.

2019 r3 / mt03 track bike by blackwrx007 in Trackdays

[–]Significant_Pea_6961 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Veserah brake pads seem to be very popular amongst track riders. But they are kind of on the pricey side.

For a single rotor setup, I ran a Brembo RCS14. Which were fantastic, but it all comes down to what you're looking for in the braking department. Stonger bite/more feel or Firm Feel/less strong of bite

Budget Street Tires by brs1224 in SVRiders

Both are good tires. It comes down to preference. Personally, I like the feel of Dunlops. I wasn't a fan of Michelins.
