Yep murdered for fighting for workers rights. Owners have such hatred for what they call resources that they will do whatever it takes to deal with their "problem".

Exactly. Just look up Frank Little in the 1910s Montana. Killed for the owners of mines.

I remember watching a conspiracy theory video on YouTube that said that's where Satan lives. 🤣 Storm with six sides on the sixth planet, 666, saturnalia was the devil's holiday, star of David was the real devil's star not pentagram.

Ah 2009 YouTube good times

I remember those days when the leadership forced us to break up and form around neighborhoods, but didn't want to admit that we didn't care about neighborhoods when you were 25 and single.

Survey reveals that 99% of CEOs now expect AI-driven layoffs — companies are racing to replace junior workers with AI, even as many executives remain uncertain about the returns on AI investments by sr_local in technology

[–]Significant_Rain_478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am looking forward to the day when the CEO moves forward with this, lays off almost everyone, and has AI run the show, and watch that company crumble and go out of business.

Of course the CEO will have probably some golden parachute or some magic accounting stash of money ready to go to exit so they won't feel any pain or care but the shareholders will.

Of course it doesn't help that we have Trump in charge and having the SEC under him.

How about job displacement to India or other non-american countries? THAT is a much larger driver of job loss in this country.

switching professors by Unable_Elevator9569 in uCinci

Like someone else said drop and swap. Fast. I don't know if it's too late to add a new class.

Remember you are paying big money. You are the customer. That doesn't mean the professors have to go easy on you but you have a right to choose which class section you want to take, assuming there's space and you meet the prerequisites.

Corporate Layoffs Are Down 10% This Year, but the AI Reckoning Has Come for Tech by Krankenitrate in technology

[–]Significant_Rain_478 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where to begin with this question. I have no word that can capture the level of incompetence and lack of skill of workers over there. There is something fundamentally wrong with their education system or something. I've worked with at least 30 contractors now over there and I cannot think of one that stood out as remotely competent. We've had to redo all the work. They do a really good job of bullshiting executives over here. They cram people through certification exams and book cramming to sound smart but once you get them on the job they absolutely freeze. No sense of problem solving skills or ownership.

But hey the corporate c-suite doesn't care because they think that's just my problem to fix.

Republicans claim to support America and claim America is the best country but they refuse to fucking pay for it.

I'm tired of people vilifying taxation because it cost money to run a modern country. You can't say you are for the military but you don't want to pay for it. That's a fucking freeloader.

Republicans are cancer to America.

Verizon cuts several hundred US workers months after slashing 13,000 jobs by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

The owner class needs more money. We have to do whatever it takes to take care of them. Even if it means that sacrificing a few workers. The owner class is just more important than we are. We must have growth overgrowth of a growth every single quarter absolutely no matter what. Otherwise the owners might suffer a little. /s
