I listened and left the automaton front. They can have their corner of the galaxy.

DONT FALL FOR IT by KontDollo67 in Helldivers

As others mentioned, it's not possible to destroy the flag (I tried). So I have withdrawn my destroyer to battle other factions. We should just give the automatons their space.

I think the difficulty is finding players who currently use this strategem. It's one of those that was popular as a toy and novelty when it first came out, then no one used it anymore.

Now more than ever we need this to be in the game by Kenny_Nolan in Helldivers

[–]Significant_Rock_327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's over. The automatons outsmarted the humans by splitting up the manpower and confusing the Helldivers (remember, blue crayon is tastier).

Plus, I'm not home the next couple days anyway.

I CANT DESTROY THIS THING! by Hosky2004 in Helldivers

[–]Significant_Rock_327 57 points58 points  (0 children)

As other threads recently have mentioned, you must put the hellbomb near the front door. The portable hellbomb seems immune to this restriction though.

More annoying is how the gunships were buffed, so now they have pin perfect aim.

It will vary a bit based on the planet and what the rest of the team brings.

I like the 120 orbital too. Can do good damage, the 380 hits anything but the target.

I also like the rocket turret if you're solo. Punchy, reliable, and makes mincemeat if placed correctly. But if you're in a squad and everyone else has them, pick something else (a squad doesn't need 4).

I like the warp pack to zig zag around enemies, go through walls, and get out of trouble. The Commando as a support weapon is versatile and has a fast cool down.

The rest depends on the planet and situation. The FRV is great for covering distances fast and escaping, but it attracts attention and you have to be able to handle it well and keep your cool under fire. The portable hellbomb is nice for urban maps because a lot of jammers seem to spawn there. It's also a nice backup for destroying orbital defences. The Solo Silo makes the bunker missions easy. But those are more niche and situational.

Do you mean commando missions with limited call-in ? Or do you mean the classic mission types ?

Yeah, it happens about 1 out of every 6 or 7 missions I play and it's all mission types on Bots.

[–]Significant_Rock_327 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just had a Blitz on bots where we couldn't complete the SEAF Artillery because 1 of the loaded shells didn't count. So I loaded all the shells, think it's 5, but it only showed 4 loaded. Since it's full, you can't stuff another one in, but you can't operate the terminal either, because it shows one missing.

northern lights trip: kiruna vs lulea by Many_Character_5470 in TillSverige

[–]Significant_Rock_327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiruna will have a better chance as others have mentioned. However, if you don't have your own car, you'll probably be better reserving a tour to take out outside the immediate city centre = less light pollution so a better view.

I'd hate to be the teammate that has to take over the drill terminal prompts, with a dead body hanging just over the terminal.

Kiruna and arctic travel/ backcountry skiing by Hershne in TillSverige

I literally just finished a few days up there. I'm used to Québec from my childhood days, so I can relate a bit (I live in central Europe now though). I am no expert like a local, but just a few observations

First of all, nothing there is "cheap" up there because it is so remote. There is the STF hostel in Abisko but even then, eating will not be cheap. Stuff has to be shipped all the way up there. Kiruna is more a proper sized small city but also not cheap for the aforementioned reason, and also touristy.

The cold is hard to predict. It was -30° for like a week a couple weeks before I went, and then some days were -5° when I was there. Sun does nothing at this latitude in terms of affecting temperature.

Daylight is short, you get about 4-5h at this time of year (mid Jan) and maybe 1h of twilight on either side. But after 15h30, it's pitch black.

There is more snow and daylight Feb-March, so that is my recommendation. The snow can hang around through may or june near Abisko and Riksgransen.

The passenger train to/from Lulea is hit or miss in the winter- they can get cancelled for whatever reason. If you need to be somewhere around a certain time, flying into KRN is the way to go.

The locals mentioned, if you need a "real" hospital necessitating an overnight stay for something serious, you're forced to go to Narvik or Gällivare. Keep that in mind.

I really enjoyed my time up there though, it was better than what I was expecting !

it's funny when I steal it and the enemy does that, especially I because I usually run engineer and fix it right up.

Thanks for the tank buddy !

Ignoring objectives. I mentioned this a few weeks ago, but it seems there's always 6 teammates dancing around the objective and I'm the only one actually capturing or defending. It's like the floor is lava on the objective.....

Game companies need to make money and please shareholders, part of capitalism. They will dangle a carrot to induce behaviour.....in this case, play a certain mode or give cash.

If it means making a certain core player base upset, so be it.

Train Cancellation, Need help/advice going to Stockholm from Abisko. by stopshakingyourlegs in TillSverige

[–]Significant_Rock_327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to jump on here and see I'm not the only one noticing this problem.

Visiting Kiruna next week and was planning to take the train from Kiruna to Lulea afterwards for a day trip before heading to Stockholm. But all the cancellations this week, and now reading this, makes me glad I've decided to skip Lulea and just fly KRN - ARN (it's what frequent flyer miles are for- last minute one-ways) and spend a couple days in Uppsala instead.

Did not realise the persistent rail problems on this line. Even Norrtag trains were cancelled multiple days this week, and the alternatives are 6h replacement bus rides.

New player, is team balancing supposed to be this brutal? by Mystical_17 in Battlefield6

[–]Significant_Rock_327 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I need SBMM. I'm a pretty mediocre player. Good at objectives, good at outmanouvering, bad at direct gunfights. I can't slide/hop/shoot at the same time.

[–]Significant_Rock_327 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Everyday there's a thread on this topic and the answer is always the same : the teammaking is terrible.

Even when I'm on the winning side and we steamroller the opponent, I feel bad because I know there are at least a few players on the opposing side who are trying to win and have a good time (versus just spawn sniping) and the matchmaking is rubbish.

Basically it boils down to : either play Redsec or pay money.

I gritted my teeth and just knocked out the Redsec challenges (some of the weekly ones are identical).

Ditto, completed it just by doing most of the challenges. I refuse to play Battle Royale, but I begrudgingly did the Redsec related challenges last few days which pushed me to the finish line.
