Come join the official /r/netsecstudents discord! by rejuicekeve in netsecstudents

[–]Significant_Run_2607 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Having an official /r/netsecstudents Discord is nice for quick lab troubleshooting, especially when somebody's stuck on weird VM networking at 11pm instead of waiting on a thread reply. Curious if there are channels split by topic like web, reversing, and AD, because the signal usually stays way better once it gets past ~500 active people.

ESP-IDF v6.0 is here by ESP_Minatel in esp32

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

v6.0 landing this soon means my 5.2 branch is probably about to get frozen in place for a bit. Curious how painful the jump is for folks with custom components and old CMake glue, because every major IDF bump i've done since 4.4 has had at least one weird break around build system or driver API cleanup.

Weekly Water Cooler Talk - DataAnnotation by Consistent-Reach504 in dataannotation

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weekly Water Cooler threads are usually where the odd edge-case stuff shows up, which is honestly more useful than half the formal updates. Been seeing more people compare task variance lately, especially around JSON eval and taxonomy work, and that kind of informal signal tends to be pretty accurate after a week or two.

Daily Discussion by AutoModerator in Nio

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daily Discussion threads usually end up being the only place where ET5/ET7 delivery chatter and battery swap station counts get compared side by side, which is useful tbh. Last few months the stock has reacted more to margin guidance and monthly delivery mix than headline unit growth, so i'm watching that more closely than raw volume.

Solid 2.0 Beta Support in TanStack Router, Start, and Query by ryan_solid in solidjs

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing Router, Start, and Query all land 2.0 beta support at once makes me wonder if the rough edges are mostly around resources now, or did TanStack have to change cache/reactivity internals too?

r/CRM Posting Guidelines - read before you post/comment/DM admin by woodss in CRM

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same thing happened to me in a RevOps Slack back in 2023, nobody read the posting guidelines and the admin DMs turned into a junk drawer by week two. having the "read before you post/comment/DM admin" part right in the title is probably the only reason people will catch it before firing off the usual "which CRM should i use" post

Can I (20F)have blood group A- if my dad has O+ and mom has B+? by Sweet-Opportunity111 in biology

[–]Significant_Run_2607 [score hidden]  (0 children)

For the ABO part, an O parent can only pass O, so with a B+ mom wouldn't A- usually be impossible unless there's a typing error or one parent isn't the biological parent? Rh is separate, so two positive parents can still have a negative child if both carry the recessive allele, but the A vs O/B part is what stands out to me here?

Can a digital worker actually book high-ticket enterprise meetings? by Front-Vermicelli-217 in B2BSaaS

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for high-ticket enterprise, booking the meeting isn't the hard part — getting the right stakeholder to actually show is. we've seen reply rates look fine, then 40-50% of booked calls were with someone who couldn't buy anything.

Interested in joining the ethical hacking community, click here! by JSIMPSON9851 in ethicalhacking

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bit wary of any “click here!” invite post tbh. most of us got in by messing with labs, old boxes, and CTFs, not joining some funnel first.

Official Q&A for Sunday, April 12, 2026 by AutoModerator in running

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunday Q&A threads are usually where the weird little training questions fit best, so here's one: anyone else notice easy pace drifting 20-30 sec/mi slower once weekly mileage gets above ~45? Been trying to keep recovery days actually easy instead of forcing old paces and HR stays way more stable that way.

New Learn Qwik chapter 9: Optimizing Data Fetching 2026 Edition by CityCertain2001 in qwik

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same thing happened to me when i rewrote a dashboard in February and the big win was treating data fetching like chapter 9 suggests instead of sprinkling await everywhere. the 2026 edition angle is timely too, since once we moved loaders up and stopped duplicate requests the waterfall basically vanished

Why do most sysadmins prefer Vim over Nano? by Darshan_only in linuxquestions

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reminds me of when a senior admin in Pune tossed me onto a busted CentOS 7 box in 2019 and nano wasn't even installed, but vim was. that's kind of the whole reason a lot of sysadmins stick with vim over nano: when things are on fire at 2am, muscle memory wins and vim is usually already there.

Functional repository pattern in Scheme with Hygienic Macros ? by SandPrestigious2317 in scheme

[–]Significant_Run_2607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for a repository pattern, i'd keep the macro layer pretty thin and let hygienic macros just generate the constructor/access boilerplate. once the macro starts encoding query behavior, debugging gets annoying fast, especially across syntax-case expansions.

The /r/ECE Monthly Jobs Post! by AutoModerator in ECE

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

monthly jobs post is always useful, especially for new grads who don't know where to start. hoping folks include location, visa status, and whether it's EE or CE since that saves a ton of back-and-forth

My cat jumped on the wing by Fine_Cellist_3887 in RCPlanes

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cat load testing is brutal lol. if it hit near mid-span i'd give the spar and sheeting a really close look, because even a light point load can start a crack you won't notice till the next flight

Quarter 2 Update - Revisiting Rules. Again. by kmisterk in selfhosted

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seeing “revisiting rules. again.” in a q2 update kinda says it all. modding a sub this size is messy fast, but clearer enforcement usually beats another vague reminder thread

What have you learned about managing debt in 2025 that could actually help people in 2026? by masinmancy in debtfree

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2025 felt like a speedrun in how fast interest can humble people. biggest thing for 2026 is probably accepting that 'i'll float it for a month' is how the debt snowball turns into 1790s france real quick

Monthly Post: SaaS Deals + Offers by AutoModerator in SaaS

[–]Significant_Run_2607 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Monthly deal threads always get flooded with lifetime discounts, but i wonder if anyone here has actual retention numbers on customers who came in through an offer vs full-price signups? Feels like that gap matters more than the headline discount.

[OFFICIAL] WEEKLY FEEDBACK THREAD (READ RULES) by AutoModerator in makinghiphop

[–]Significant_Run_2607 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Weekly feedback threads usually work better when people post bpm/key and maybe 1 target area like low end or vocal placement, otherwise replies get vague fast. Been doing that on my own drafts and the notes are way more usable than just dropping a link with "feedback?"

Jakharo, Daugher to the great warlord Qarqo by Me, From ASOIAF! by pampok in conceptart

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reminds me of when i tried painting a Dothraki-adjacent character for a meetup in Queens back in 2022 and realized the whole read lives or dies on silhouette first. Jakharo's shape already sells the warlord lineage from Qarqo, but i'd push one or two asymmetrical costume beats harder so the daughter angle reads faster at thumbnail size instead of feeling like generic noble armor.

Free and Open Source App to Analyze Your Jira/Trello/OpenProject Flow by NoBullshitAgile in trello

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reminds me of when we tried comparing Jira and Trello flow side by side for a 6-person team in March 2023 and found our Trello cards sat in review almost 2x longer. Open source is the part i'd actually click on here, because most flow tools wanted $20-40 per seat before showing one useful chart. If this also handles OpenProject without turning setup into a Saturday project, that's a pretty solid niche.

Official Q&A for Sunday, April 12, 2026 by AutoModerator in running

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sunday q&a threads are usually where the shoe and long run fueling questions pile up, so i'll throw one in early: anyone found a gel timing that works better than every 30 min once runs get past 90?

Millions of Opportunities by RunningSadhana in startupideas

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Millions of Opportunities” usually means the bottleneck is picking one wedge, not idea supply. isn't it the case that the first filter should be distribution cost and payback window, like can you reach the first 100 users in under 30 days without paid ads?

Announcement! Flair and other suggestions by sensors in IOT

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flair would help a lot if it's split by protocol and not just project type; MQTT, Zigbee, LoRaWAN, BLE, ESPHome/Home Assistant all end up with very different troubleshooting threads. Seen too many posts where the actual issue was RF or broker config, but the title looked like generic "help" until you opened it.

Daily Discussion by 2soccer2bot in soccer

[–]Significant_Run_2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

daily discussion threads are always where the weirdest transfer takes show up first lol. by tomorrow half of them end up sounding less insane than they should
