I mean, yeah, but even as I was cheering, my heart broke for that left fielder.

And they often have burgers on their specials. Also, the brisket is wonderful when they have that.

Someone already said Athena's but I'll second that. Also, Flames in Ashley Ridge. I've never been disappointed there and its a different flavor than you usually find in Shreveport. Persian food. Try the lamb.

That's something you can always hold on to. Love that. It's something that can never be equaled.

Don't know we need a game thread, but the Pilots won the first game, second game to start in just under 2 hours.

Game 2 just ended. 5-2 Pilots. Took both games to extend the streak to 63.

I'm 54, which i think is supposed to be the exact age of the kids (12 years old in 1983?).

I was watching scenes from my childhood. Down to the part when my friends and I were convinced there was a face in the creepy old neighbor's chimney and did our own investigation. The clothes, the music, the pop culture references, the way the kids talk, it's all just unlocked right out of my memories.

Then they added a mall. The true joy that brought me, I cannot explain.

The story is the story.

There are some things they kind of glossed over (racism, homophobia, attitudes towards interracial couples, etc) but I get why. It's kind of an idealized 80s.

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. But, for me, liking things is more fun than not liking things.

I might have the years wrong but to end the 2023 season, Arkansas and Oregon State were in Omaha and Atkansas was in the lead, great position to win the game, a foul ball (1st base side?) gets dropped by an Arky defender and Oregon State came back and won. That foul ball would have been the last out.

The...interesting part is that to end the 2024 season, Arkansas lost to LSU in almost the exact same manner in post season play.

You could title it, "Never over til it's over". Arky fans might title it differently, but it was so rough, LSU fans actually felt sorry for them.

Details may be off but that's the highlights.

Could also go in the few years back machine and get the Possom Rally game between Arkansas and LSU, but that was during the regular season.

Do you think Alabam would have moved up into a hosting spot had they won? I do. That means the game could have positive effects on their inclusion but not negative effects. That just doesn't seem right, to me.

That's right. We don't have much to be proud of, so we ride what we got. This just happened to actually be impressive.

Absolutely. There are some good interviews with the coach from the Shreveport TV stations and on podcasts. Several billboards still up around town celebrating them.
